Wedding planning: On a budget

Hello darlings.

Sorry i've been a little absent a lot has been going on recently, mainly wedding planning! Will and i have been engaged for about 18 months now, we got engaged since January 2018. We have finally set a date and we get married next October, which is very exciting. Sadly it is a another 18 months away but it give us time to save and book everything. Venues book up about 18 months in advance so i'm glad we have started now.

According to the Independent the national average wedding cost (last year in 2018) was £30,355. Which for most people is a lot of money!  Me and Will are currently renovating our house which is costing a lot of money and we both don't earn a huge amount. I only work part time and care for my 2 year old son. So i thought i would document the journey to getting our dream wedding on a budget. We planned to make this happen on a budget of less than £10,000, (hopefully a lot less) which is a third of the national average.
We so far have booked/got:
Our venue/food
Venue decorations
Our Church
Wedding cake
Wedding dress
Bride jewellery and tiara
Groom suit.

There are still quite a few things we need to book and buy, but we have 18 months to do this, so hopefully i wont turn into a bridezilla (ask me again a week before the wedding) but i want a simple elegant wedding, not over the top and Will feels the same.
I have joined many DIY bride groups of Facebook and have many Pinterest broads (here my mine) and i have so many ideas. I have also started making lots of pieces which i will share with you guys. My guests bedroom is full of wedding pieces. So this first post isn't too long i will stop here but i will be back soon with some DIY pieces have already made and if i can make them then you certainly can!

I'd love to know if you are getting married? If so when i'd love to know!
Hows your wedding planning going?
