7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty Tag | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings 

Today i thought i'd do a little tag. When i started my blog i use to do quite a few tags and i really enjoyed doing them. This one is the 7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty.

1.  GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

My most expensive item that i have ever bought has to be my Urban Decay Naked Palettes. They were £38 each and i love them to bits. I think they are a worth while investment as they will last me for years and i use them daily :)

Least Expensive: 

There was so many products i have that are good value so many MUA and e.l.f products. But i finally went for MUA lipsticks. These are so inexpensive and so amazing. And i can't believe they are only £1!

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

My love/hate relationship is with Bronzers. Although i love them sometimes they just don't apply right and i look orange. But sometimes they get it just right and they make you look amazing!

Hardest to get:

There are quite a few products that are hard to get in the U.K. I've gone for W7 as i never see it around apart from in discounted makeup shops. I picked up this little palette in Wales last year and its a really good palette, i just wish i could try more from the range.

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
I was going to chose a Bourjois product as their foundations and bronzers smells so incredible and so delicious! But i've gone for the Revlon Matte Balms. Theses smell so good and i'm just so in love with them, you must be sick of me raving about them now.

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
You know what i'm going to say and you'll agree with me, one thing that must us women neglect due to laziness is primer. I just forget sometimes, i have no excuse.

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
Brows, definitely my brows, they shape my entire face. I was toying with saying concealer as it gets rid of those dreaded dark circles under my eyes but it has to be brows. Mine are just so sparse they need filling in the give my face any definition. 

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
I thought this was a odd question in this tag and perhaps it has been put in by mistake..... But nonetheless i have to say, sense of humor and intelligence. And maybe good dress sense and really nice arms and hair...... hehe.  

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
Oooh i'd love to receive a Sigma Brush set, they are so expensive but i'd love to try them. So hint hint.... hehe.

How many cups of tea do you have a day and how many sugars?

I drink about 8-10 a day but sometimes it can be more, I am a BIG tea drinker. I don’t have sugars I have sweeteners, I think if I drank that much with sugar I’d have no teeth left….

Favourite part of your roast?

Stuffing!

Favourite dunking biscuit?

Rich teas or chocolate digestives.

I didn't completely understated this question, i'm guessing it means favourite past of British history? I would have to say women gaining the vote. Or the coronation of Queen Elizabeth 1 and 2.

Fabulous or boob….. haha.

I don't know any really.

Favourite sweet?

I'm not the biggest fan of sweets but if i had to chose it would be anything that is lemon flavoured.

Favourite shop, probably H&M or Debenhams.

Favourite restaurant Real China or Frankie and Benny’s. Or does Costa count? I spent most my life in there.

Hello darlings

Today i have for you 21 Facts About Me, its been ages since i've done a tag and i really love doing them. I saw this one on Youtube the other day and liked the questions so i thought i'd give it a shot. Its also another opportunity for you to get to know me better.

21 facts about me.

1. Are you named after anyone? Not my first name but second name is Alice which has been passed down the family for generations as a middle name.

2. When was last time you cried? Last night at the Wizard of Oz because I always cry, even tho its not that sad…..

3. Do you have kids? No.

4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? This is actually a really interesting question and I think it’s a question that my answer would change depending on how I felt that day. Whether or not you like yourself to be honest or if you think you're a good person. But I’m gonna go with yes because I’m not a bad person and i try my best. 

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Yes, i'm the queen of sass.

6. Will you ever bungee-jump? No.

7. Whats your favourite cereal? Country Crisp in the Strawberry flavour. I literally eat several bowls a day.

8. Whats the first thing you notice about people? Is this physical appearance? Or personality? I’m gonna go with eyebrows and eye contact.

9. What is your eye colour? Brown/hazel, depending on the light.

10. Scary movie or happy endings? Happy ending or I get really pissed off. Haha, but I do love a horror!

11. Favourite smells? Vanilla, lemongrass and orange blossom.  I HATE lavender! Just to let you know for future reference and presents. ;) 

12. Summer or winter? Winter, but not weather so much but the fashion and I love Christmas!

13. Computer or television? Computer because I watch most TV shows online anyway.

14. Whats the furthest you've ever been from home? I think Belgium is the furthest. or is Holland further? I'm not actually sure, my geography is really bad.

15. Do you have any special talents? No, I’m pretty boring.

16. Where were you born? Bath, England.

17. What are your hobbies? Blogging and a excessive movie watcher.

18. Do you have any pets? Yes, 4 cats, 2 rabbits.

19. Favourite movie? The Freedom Writers, I think the message of the movie is so important and it appeals the historian in me and the human. I recommend everyone watches it at some point in their lives.

20. Do you have any siblings? Yes, one younger brother.

21. What do you want to be when you grow up? A historian. I’ not sure what job role but it will be in the history field.

Whats in my bag: Summer 2014

Hello darlings.

Today i thought i would do the 'what is in my bag' tag. 

 Not the most exciting contents but i love reading these type of posts and i'm just really nosy!

So i thought i'd give it a go!  

My bag is from Primark ^-^ It was only £10 and is the perfect size!

 I should mention i haven't included my phone, as i took the picture with it, and also my inhaler, as it was on the side of the room and i forgot about it, oops.

So lets begin:

My glasses: I always carry them on me as i am practically blind, but i don't like wearing them but i know one day i may have to wear them full time.

Headphones: I ALWAYS carry music with me especially when it comes to walking to work or back from Uni, it is a must have! And yes sometimes i am that annoying person singing to myself walking past you. Nope, i'm not sorry :P

Aspirins: I always carry a supply of aspirins as i am prone to stress headaches.

Dry Shampoo: A must have!

Purse: Gotta have somewhere to keep my money and hundreds of store cards.... I am currently looking for a new purse, one that is a lot bigger and has more storage for cards. If anyone knows any good shops that sell large, but still cute, purses comment down below ^-^ Thank you darlings.

Book: I always carry a book on me, i like having something to read and as a history geek its usually a History book or about an old Hollywood star.

Deodorant: Another must have, especially in the summer.

Sunglasses: It is currently summer so i always carry a pair of sunnies in my bag, these ones are ones i got from Primark for only £1 and they are supper cute.

Keys: Always carry my keys, nothing much interesting there...

Camera: I'm always taking pictures so my camera is always in my bag as i never know when i might find something amazing to photograph.

Tissues: Always carry tissues, especially when i have hay fever and also if i ever use a public toilet, yeah enough said....

Lip balm: Its always in my bag!

Mirror: I carry two mirrors, yes two, i need two. One for my makeup bag and one just in the pocket in case i don't take my makeup bag with me, which is rare but it does happen.

Hair brush: Another standard must have.

Water: Especially a must in the summer and also then i don't have to keep buying drinks while i'm out. But to be honest it never works as i'm always in Costa.... Hmmm, there is a flaw in my plan. Oh well its there for emergencies!  

Dried fruit: I always carry dried apricots in my bag as you never know when you might get hungry. Especially when i'm in a lecture or get hungry at work.

Makeup bag: This is the main reason my bag is so heavy! That and my books. I always carry my makeup bag on me, you never know when you are gonna need a touch up or if you're staying overnight somewhere.

Reading it like this it looks like a lot, but it is all needed!

1.       When did you start blogging and why?

I stated blogging because i'd been reading blogs for years and i really wanted to start one myself but never thought i would be any good at it. I originally made my blog this time last year but was too nervous to blog, so i would just post the odd thing every few months, but this year i started to gain confidence and update more regularly.

2.       How many people in 'real life' know about your blog?

A couple of friends, but not my parents. They wouldn't be against it i just never found i needed to.

3.       What are your favourite posts to read?

I love reading tag posts and getting to know you posts. Also anything beauty and old Hollywood related. 

4.       List a blog you have recently discovered?

I recently found http://atlantic-pacific.blogspot.co.uk i love this fashion blog, her sense of style is amazing and i love all the things she posts. 

5.       What post are you most proud of?

Oooh i don't know, i am going to say my Sucker For A Perfume Advert post, as its something i came up with and hadn't seen done before, so it feels unique and special to me.

6.       What advice would you give to future bloggers?

Just write about what you want, don't write what you think people want to read and what everybody else is writing. Just have fun, its your personal space and you should enjoy it.

Full face of makeup in only five products!

Hello darlings

 I recently saw a Youtuber do this tag and I thought it looked like fun and a real challenge. Basically what you have to do is chose five makeup products and only five, to do your whole face.

So here is my attempt!

Here are my choices:

For my base: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, which is a much loved product as you can tell most of the wording has rubbed off! I used this instead of a foundation as I can put it on my problem areas such as dark under eye circles and blemishes and then just blend it out to even my skin tone. I have this in shade light.

Also for my base I chose Rimmel Stay Matte Powder as I have quite oily skin, especially my t-zone and tend to get shinny during the day so a matte powder is a necessity! I have this in shade 003 peach glow.

Next, eyebrows: I cannot physically leave the house without filing in my eyebrows! I chose MUA Pro-brow Kit. I have very spare uneven eyebrows so filling them out is key. I also chose this palette as it can also be used for eyeshadow.

Moving on to eyes. I chose MaxFactor 2000 Calorie Mascara, mascara is another must have. This is an awesome classic mascara which does wonders for my eyelashes.

Lips: The last product of my five is of course lipstick. I’ve gone with a very pale pink in ‘Shade 13, Satin Bow’ by Collection. I find there lipsticks fantastic, they have a wonderful shade range and the don’t dry out my lips. Plus great value for money at only £2.99 

So here is the result:

The '40 Beauty Questions' Tag

I enjoyed doing the other beauty tag so much that i had to find another! I came across this one after seeing a Youtuber do it and knew i had to give it ago!

Skincare:

-How many times do you wash your face daily? Twice, in the morning and evening

-What skin type do you have? (dry,oily,combo) Combination-oily, only oily in patches like the forehead and chin

-What is your current facial wash? Simple's

-Do you exfoliate? Sometimes

-What brand do you use? I don’t tend to stick to just one, Simple, nivea, own brands, I like to try different ones

-What moisturizer do you use? At the moment Simple and a Nivea primer/moisturiser

-Do you have freckles? Yes, but I get them more in the summer

-Do you use eye cream? No

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin? Not really, I mean I get spots but that usually if I’m stressed etc

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ? No

Makeup

-What foundation do you use? Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

-How about concealer? Collection Lasting Perfection

-Do you know your undertone colour? I have slight pinky undertones

-What do you think of false eyelashes? I like them, but I don’t wear them often

-Did you know that you are suppose to change your mascara every 3 months? Yes I did, I don’t always tho. To be honest I’m never very faithful to a mascara so I don’t think I will use one for 3 months solid. But I only use them on myself so I figured its not too bad. But if they have dried out then they go straight in the bin.

-What brand of mascara do you use? It changes all the time! Max Factor, Rimmel and Collection are among my favourites at the moment.

-Sephora or MAC? MAC, only because I’ve never shopped in Sephora or even been into one. We don’t have them in the UK :(

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card? Nope

-What makeup tools do you use in makeup application? I use Real Techniques brushes and I have a couple of Urban Decay and Barry M ones too

-Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes? I do at the moment I am using George (ASDA’s own band) eyelid primer, which is so AMAZING! I only went and got it after hearing Wayne Goss (amazing Youtuber, go check him out!)  raving about it and I was sold!

-For the face? I use the MUA face primer and I’m currently trying a Nivea which is pretty good!

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)? Urban Decays ‘Naked 2’, or ‘MAC’s Wedge’

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner? I use to be a pencil eyeliner girl but recently I’ve used more liquid or pen ones so I will say the latter

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil? Not often, typing this I bet tomorrow morning I will!! Haha

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows? Love them especially if you have a long an busy day they tend to stay on longest

-Do you use mineral makeup? Not usually

-What is your favorite lipstick? ‘Satin Bow’ by Collection

-How about lipgloss? I’m not a big fan of lipgloss to be honest so I don’t have a favourite

-What is your favorite blush to use? I like the ones by Sleek but I’m not a big blush person

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay? Not often but I do have the Ebay eyeshadow palettes and they do some good brushes

-Do you like drugstore makeup? Yes, very much

-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets) Yes

-Did you ever consider taking makeup classes? I really wanted too when I was younger! I use to love doing my friends makeup and always wanted to teach it, but now not so much as there are so much more talented people out there who can do it better than me

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup? Sometimes, especially at 6am in the morning I’m usually very tired and sometimes get mascara all over my eyelids…..haha

-Name a makeup crime that you hate? Scouse brows… need i say more. I do like a strong defined brow but not like that.... 

-Do you like colourful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones? Neutral, I feel safer wearing those

-Which celebrity always has great makeup? I’m gonna say Marilyn Monroe even tho she has died I love her makeup!

-If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would you use? Eyebrow pencil or shadow, I cannot leave the house without my eyebrows filled or I look like an alien. I have very sparse brows and a victim to over of over plucking as a young teenager, so it is very much needed

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on? Yes, I don’t like doing it but I can

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on? Umm to myself no, but I don’t have really bad skin or anything horrific. Apart from the dark circle under my eyes, so I get I guess its ok, if I’m having a good skin day

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line? Between Urban Decay and Rimmel

-What do you think of Makeup?? Love it, it is art, simple :)

Would You Rather... 'Beauty Edition' Tag

So i recently saw a blogger do this tag and i thought why don't i give it a try? Plus it helps you to get to know me better.

Its a sort of would you rather, but a beauty edition.

Makeup:

Blush or Bronzer: Bronzer, I don’t tend to wear a lot of blush as I’m usually quite pink anyway and it just looks too much. Although I own way too much…..

Lipgloss or Lipstick: Lipstick, it is a must have. To have one good staple lipstick is what every girls needs in her makeup bag, even if its just a simple nude or pink colour.

Eyeliner or Mascara: Ooooh I’m going to say mascara as I feel naked without it, but I do love a winged eye!

Foundation or Concealer: Concealer, because then I can put it on my problem areas, such a dark under eyes and blemishes, and just blend it out to match the rest of my skin tone. Whereas a foundation, unless it full coverage won’t concealer them.

Neutral or Colour Eyeshadow: Neutral, plain and classic, perfect for everyday wear.

Pressed or Loose eye shadows: Pressed! I love a good matte powder.

Brushes or Sponges: Brushes, especially Real Techniques brushes, they are amazing.

Nails:

O.P.I or China Glaze: I personally find they both chip really quickly, so I prefer Barry M as they are just so good and the colour range is lovely.

Acrylic or Natural: Both, but I’m gonna go with acrylic.

Brights or Darks: Darks. I love dark reds, purples and blacks. Although I do also like nudes and pastels, but I rarely wear brights or neons.

Flower or No Flower: No flower.

Long or Short: Long!

Body:

Perfume or Body Splash: Perfume! Hands down!

Lotion or Body Butter: Lotion.

LUSH or Other Bath Company: Lush!! But a close second would be the Body Shop.

Fashion:

Jeans or Sweat pants: Jeans or leggings.

Long sleeve or Short: Depends on the weather and my mood, but I’m going to go with long.

Stripes or Plaid: Neither really.

Flip flops or Sandals: Sandals, I hate flip flops, unless you’re on the beach, then they are ok.

Studs or Dangly Earrings: I wear studs daily, (I have my ears pierced twice on each ear) but I do love a big hop! Or any type of big gold chunky earnings.

Necklaces or Bracelets: Necklaces, I have small wrists so I find it hard to finds bracelets that don’t slip off.

Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots: Neither.

Jacket or Hoodie: Jacket, but I wear hoodies when I lounge around the house.

Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe: I’ve only ever been in Forever 21 (which was when I went to Amsterdam) so I’ll say that one.

Curly or Straight: Curly, but depends on my mood.

Bun or Ponytail: Bun.

Bobby pins or Butterfly clips: Bobby pins, or curl clips.

'My most worn' tag.

I saw this tag a few days ago and thought I’d give it a go! So here are all the products/items i have been loving this month. 

My most worn...

Book: (Not really worn this but I thought I’d put it in as well.) 'Elizabeth' By J.Randy Tararorrelli, such an amazing book about one of my idols, the beautiful Elizabeth Taylor. I love J.R Taraborrelli books, and have read many of his books including his book on Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson. I highly recommend them!

Hair product: Batiste dry shampoo. I literally rely on this stuff! Its the best dry shampoo i have ever tried.

Makeup item: The Urban Decay basics palette. I bought this last month and have used no other eye-shadows. Its perfect for everyday looks, basic, matte, natural and smoky eyes. Also they are really pigmented and stay on for a really long time.

Nail varnish: Barry M nail polish in shade 1A Red wine. My all time favourite shade, i love how its a deep red but not a bright colour. Its classic and classy. 

Here are my nails at the moment, i am wearing the red wine shade and 47 Black in Barry M. 

Perfume: Chanel No5. This is the perfume i wear daily, i've had this 100ml bottle for coming up to three years and i'm never bored of it. But i'm soon gonna run out of and must repurchase! Or if someone loves me they can buy it for me *flutters eyelashes*

Skin care: Superdrug's own brand hot cleanser. Its perfect for taking my makeup off with and leaves my skin super soft, healthy and clean.

Item of clothing: My blue stripped dress from Primark. I love the colour and the style and think it is perfect for summer.

Shoes: Black heeled boots from New Look. They are comfortable and practical. 

Jewellery:

Earrings: Square gold hoops from Primark, matches all my outfits, light weight and good value for money. 

Necklace: Audrey Hepburn watch/necklace. This was given to me as a gift from a friend. Its cute and light weight and Audrey matched all my outfits.

Ring: Gold rings from Primark. Again good value and matches all my outfits and all my nail polishes.
