Underrated products // Collection Speedy Highlighter

Hello darlings

Sorry i've been a little absent, i've had a couple of weeks away. I popped down to Devon with my in-laws, Will and Isaac for a week and then to London with Will for a few nights. Plus many day trips and house renovating. But now i'm back to work and everything is settling back down to normal.

I had a little idea while i was away, to do a series all about what i believe are underrated products. The first product is one that is a rediscovery, its a product i've had in my collection for a while. The Collection Speedy Highlighter. I always forget i have this products as i've always used powder highlighters. So this one always get overlooked. But every now and then i reach for it and fall in love again.
The packaging is simple but effective. Its a cream stick highlighter. So it is easy to use, you put it directly on to your face. Or if prefer put a brush on the end and apply it that way. Both ways work.

The colour, Its not too pink or golden tone its a happy in the middle colour. Great on my skin tone, i would say its good for light to medium skin tone. I am pretty pale but currently with the lovely weather in England (i know i'm shocked too) i'm a little tanned. It creates a a perfect sheen, not a in your face shine. But you can build it up to that if you wish.  It doesn't have any chunky glitter  or sparkle, its a sheen.

I find it blends beautifully and looks really natural on my skin. Its great for my every day makeup. Plus i think it photographs really nicely!
You can buy it here for £3.99

I'd love to know have you tried this highlighter what are your thoughts?
Are there any products you think are underrated and need more love?

August Favourites 2017

Hello darlings!

As i write this i'm watching The British Bake Off, whos watching this year?! Or is everyone boycotting it? I'm quite enjoying it, i'd like to hear your thoughts! Today's post is my August favouirtes, i'm not gonna lie i'm happy this month is coming to an end! I'm so ready for summer to be over and for Autumn to come and yes that C word, CHRISTMAS! But don't worry this post isn't a Christmas post.
I don't mention many fragrances in my favouirtes posts, i rarely try new ones. But this one had been sitting on my shelf for many months. The smell of this is gorgeous! Its a beautiful summer fragrance, it lasts such a long time, a couple of sprays fills the whole room. The main reason i've been using this so much this month is because i adopted a kitten! and his litter tray is in the house and i need something to mask the scent.

Everyone ad their mother has tried and uses this mascara, its taken the world by storm. And i'm one of them who is obsessed, this has to be my fourth or fifth tube. Its gives me everything i want, makes my lashes long, curled, it doesn't flake or smudge, a winner all round!

I don't know if i've mentioned this highlighter in  a post before? I don't know why as this is a gorgeous stick highlighter! Its a proper wow, in your face kind of highlighter. Its very pretty ad long lasting. Definitely good for those Instagram pics!
I mentioned this liquid lipstick in my last post (link) and i raved about it! So its no surprise that it has made it into this months favourite. I'll let you check it out that post and you can read all my thoughts on it!

No7 Day Cream: £25.00
This is the only skincare product this month. Its the No7 day cream i got in a Christmas set last year from my brother and i've only just cracked it open as i own so many face creams and moisturizers that it takes me a while to work through them!. This is just a really nice bog standard face cream, it does what t says on the tin! Its lightweight and absorbs into the skin quickly. Its smells lovely! Overall a fab face cream!
Lastly Meet Zeus, he and Isaac are already best buddies. Of course Zeus and Isaac are included in my monthy favourites. But i will be doing a whole separate post introducing Zeus and also Isaac's six month update! Yes i can't believe he is six months old already too! So look out for those in the next week or two.

I'd love to know what are some of your August Favourites?

My day with Marilyn Monroe.

Hello darlings

Today post is all about my trip to London to see the Marilyn Monroe exhibition last Wednesday (15th). Back in 2012 i went my first Marilyn Monroe exhibition, which was in the American Museum in Bath, where i live. Before then i'd been in ore of Marilyn since i was about 10 years old. When i heard that David Gainsburg-Roberts collection was being auctioned off later in the year i knew this would be my last chance to see Marilyn belongs before hey are scatted across the world. The exhibition was in the Design Center in Chelsea Harbour in London, i went up on my own last minute decision as the exhibition is only in England in till 20th June so i had to go straight away!
1959 Austin Healey, 'Frogeye' Sprite (used as a prop).

One thing that always gets me when i see Marilyn's clothes were just how small she was, i'm not meaning height i mean her figure. History has portrayed her to be a larger actress of the time, the media said she was a size 16 but that is not true, i'm a size 10 and i wouldn't get into her garments, she was a 35-22-35. There was lots a movie footage showing Marilyn in each item, setting the scene and giving the publci a glimpse of the goddess. I took many pictures, so here they are!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience even if the journey up to London as interesting, many different trains and losing directions! I would highly recommend going, although it does end tomorrow, but it goes on tour so if its coming to your country i would go see it, and its free.

I'd love to know have you every been to a exhibition that has stuck in your mind?
Have you been to this exhibition.

My Current Obsession: Highlighting

Hello darlings.

I'm so sorry i haven't posted in a while, life has been pretty hectic recently. I've had so many Uni work submission dates, lots of extra hours at work (but yay more money!) plus i went on holiday with my family and boyfriend to Scotland last week which was lovely. Anyway back to today's post! I have to admit recently i've become a little obsessed with highlighters. They have completely changed my life and i can't go without applying a little glow to the tops of my checks! I have chosen my top four for today.s post, otherwise it would be a extremely long post and we'd been hear for hours. I hope you enjoy :)
This was the first highlighting product that i purchased and i have to admit it is my favourite that i own (Sshhh don't tell the others). The texture is buttery soft and incredibly smooth. It applies and blends like a dream. The product is well pigmented. There are three shades, the first one is subtle, the next one is quite glittery and the last one is very golden. My favoruite would be the first, to me its the most wearable, you can even get away with wearing it all over the face to give you a glow. The second i wear int he evening as more a statement abut unfortunately the golden one doesn't really suite my skin tone. The only down side for me is the packaging, although it is sleek and sexy it is quite large in size so not the best for travel. It is similar to their palettes so its hard to tell them apart.
At first i bought this for the contour side, i really wanted to get into 'sculpting' my face but it never really worked out for me and i've given up a little with the whole contouring thing. This isn't down to this product its due to my skills, of lack of! The contouring shade is nice, it isn't too orange and its easy to blend to give a natural look if applied lightly. But i found i fell in love with the highlighting side, so money not wasted! Its pigmented, its a gorgeous champagne shade that is the most beautiful. The product is really easy to blend, not as creamy as the previous product but still gorgeous all the same.
This is a new purchase for me, i only bought this product about a month ago and i'm really enjoying it. It is definitely a speedy product, as the name suggests, very good if you are in a rush! It literally only takes just one swipe on the tops of your cheeks and its done! The stick is a good size, its no to big which was one of the things i was a little worried about. This is the only cream highlighter i own, i don't know many companies that make a cream highlighters (apart from the new L'Oreal one) but this one has really impressed me. Again a champagne colour that is not too shimmery. It has nice packaging, its nothing fancy but it does the job.
Lastly I wont say too much about this blush as i wrote a whole review on it a few weeks back. (link) This is very glittery product and that is the main reason i don't use it as a blush that its intended for but makes a beautiful highlighter if you apply it subtlety. Its very pigmented in a glittery way more than a colour pay off. The product similar to the first makeup revolution product i mentioned has three colours a gold, peach, silvery colour. The silvery one is the part i use the most just to add a little something to the high points of my face.

I'd love to know have you caught the highlighting bug?
What are some of your favourite highlighters?

Hello darlings

This week i have been loving one of my old favourites, Collection's Volume Sensation lipstick in Satin Bow 13'. This was one of the first lipsticks that made me love wearing lipstick. I remember i bought it on holiday a few years back. Its a very pale pink, almost a nude. But i think its very wearble and doesn't give you that dead lips look!

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Collections lipsticks?

Top 5 Tuesday: Blushes | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings.

I recently got asked if i could do a post on my favourite blushes so i thought why not jump on the bang wagon and do a top 5 Tuesday! So today's post is about my top 5 blushes. To be honest i've only recently started to wear blush i haven't always been a fan of it as i'm naturally quite a pink person. But i think that was because i hadn't tried the right one. So here are a few of my favourites.
I hope you enjoy :)

Going clock wise, first up is a Sleek's blush in 'Suede' this is my latest and current favourite. Its the perfect subtle brownish colour, not usual for a blush but really works! Its perfect for this season. It has a great texture, goes on the skin lovely and lasts for a long time. Plus the packaging is gorgeous! Its very sleek! Next is a Makeup Revolution's Blush Palette in Hot Spice. This palette has a great range of colours and such an amazing quality. It has 8 colours, 4 slightly shimmery but not glittery ones, 2 matte and 1 baked and 1 highlighter. The baked blush is the most gorgeous i own and gives the cheeks a lovely sheen without being too much. You can get so many looks from this one palette and it is only £6! Bargain! Another super affordable blush comes from MUA, this one is called 'Cupcake'. This is one of my favourites and i have talked bout it many many times, its a perfect all year round subtle light pink shade. Its matte, which i prefer when it comes to blushes. It also good if you are heavy handed as its pigmented but not too much! Plus they are only £1! The fourth blush is my first ever blush i bought which is a Rimmel Blush in 'Santa Rose' its a perfect light pink with the slightest shimmer. Great qauilty and super cute packaging. And lastly in the center is a Natural Collection blush in 'Peach Melba'. I don't often talk about Natural collection but as a young tenager i used to love the brand! This blush is a matte peachy pink, they have a good shade range so i think they would be a colour for everyone!

I hope you enjoyed reading this.
I would love to know what is your favourite blush?

This week i have been really loving one of the Collection's Lip Puffs in 'Candyfloss'. Its a matte baby pink, not very season appropriate but its a really easy colour to pull off. Simple but cute :) Plus the smell great! Like vanilla cupcakes!

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Collection Lip Puffs?

Collection Deluxe Lipstick Review

Hello darlings

Today i have for you another quick fire review. This time of Collection's Deluxe Lipstick.

I'll start of with the packaging, i  like it, i think its nice and i like how its different to the normal packaging. The price is pretty good for drugstore makeup, slightly more expensive than their regular lipsticks, it is £3.99 whereas their other are £2.99.

This lipstick has one of the nicest smells! It smells like vanilla, its really gorgeous. You can also smell it when its on the lips, which i think is quite nice. But not good for people who don't like scent of vanilla. I found it really moisturising and creamy. It isn't drying and i didn't find it clinging to any dry parts of my lips. Its easy to apply and you can easily do it without a mirror.

Theres not a huge colour selection, only 5, but still nice colours. I do however LOVE the names.
There is: Prohibition 1, Tallulah 2, Charleston 3, Speakeasy 4, Silent movie 5, these names really appeal to me! I also wanna get silent movie 5, i think its a beautiful deep red. I'll leave a link here so you can check them out (link)

I hope you enjoyed reading this
Have you tried these lipsticks?

A Little Holiday Haul ^-^

Hello darlings.

Today post is only a little one.

While on holiday last week I did a little shopping, and i bought a couple of items, not a huge haul but I thought I’d share them with you. :)

The items i bought:
A Collection Deluxe Lipstick In ‘Tallulah 02’. Which is just so beautiful and not my usual colour as it’s a really neon kind of pink when it is on the lips, but I wore it every day and really liked it! This year has definitely been a year in which I have tried lots of new things that usually I’d be too scared to do or wear.
Miners Eyeliner Pencil In ‘Black’ I’ve never tried anything from Miners before so I saw the stand in the shop and thought I’d pick something up, so I chose a black eyeliner pencil. Its ok, nothing too special, but i look forward to trying more from them.
The Body Shop Honey Bronzer In ‘02’ fair matte. After reading Zoella’s post on her top 5 bronzers I knew I had to try this! Its so beautiful and looks lovely on my skin, i highly recommend it.
MUA Eyeshadow Palette In ‘Undress Me Too’ I’m in two minds in whether to buy the Naked 2 so I thought I would buy this dupe first to see whether or not I will like and should be buy the Naked 2. I will be putting up a review soon, so look at for that! Actually I have reviews for all this products coming soon! So stay tuned :)

I also bought this CYCLAX Natural Pure cooling face mask in cucumber, i just needed something for my face while i was away, something to help me relax and this was perfect. It smelled lovely and felt beautiful on my skin.

I hoped you enjoyed this very brief haul.
I'd love to know what products have you bought lately that you have been loving?

A little splurge....

I have a problem...
A weakness....
I have many addictions, books, tea, cats, Pugs, chocolate, shopping and....makeup.
Recently, over the past week, i had a little spurge and this was the result!
What i bought:
Real Technique Brushes, the core collection. Plus a liquid foundation brush (far left) as I wasn’t happy with the core collection one.
The Urban Decay Naked Basics palette.
A Eyeko black liquid eyeliner.
A Collection eyeshadow pencil in the shade vintage blush 3.
A Collection eyebrow palette, which I have mainly bought to use as matte brown eyeshadows.
A Rimmel London blush in the shade ‘santa rose’.
MUA single eyeshadow in shade ‘16 matte’.
A Rimmel London bronzer in the shade ‘light matte’ because I’m so pale.
An MUA matte eyeshadow palette, one I had been looking for for ages!!
L’Oreal true match foundation in the shade ‘rose ivory’ again the lightest shade they do because I’m so pale.
And finally a Collection nail polish in the shade 8 ‘babydoll pink’.

I did it again...

It happened again...yes, i  bought new books. I cannot control myself! More to add to my to the ever growing pile to read over the summer!
