My Top 5 Lipsticks // High End

Hello Darlings,

Today i thought i would put together a little post about my favourite high end lipsticks. I have to admit lipsticks are my weakness, if a new collection comes out normally the lipstick is what gets my attention! The lipsticks included are all different shades of nude, from brown, to rosy to mauve.  I find pinks, coral and most reds tend not to suit me. 

Firstly two Mac lipsticks, Mac is one of my favourite brands for lipsticks, i've built up quite a collection so it was hard to choose just two. But the two i chose were Mehr and Velvet Teddy, two great nudes. Mehr is a mauve toned nude and Velvet Teddy is a brown toned nude. Both matte but super comfortable on the lips.

Calvin Klein in the shade 'Underwood' is a light brown nude, the palest out of the selection here. Its a great everyday colour for work. Its a very creamy formula, not matte more of a cream sheen. 

Next up is my only NARS lipstick, in the shade Pigelle, its the darkest shade here. Its red-ish nude, very flattering and wearable dark nude. I think this lipstick would suit all skin tones. Again its a matte lipstick, drier than the Mac lipsticks, but with a balm underneath its very comfortable. Is there any other NARS shades i should try?

Lastly Anastasia Beverly Hills lipstick in 'Buff' i got this in TKMaxx last year. This is such a beautiful colour lipstick, this is a rosy brown, a really wearable colour. Applies smoothly, high coverage and very comfortable on the lips. They have a great shade range so i will be looking at purchasing more in the future.

Top Three Lipsticks // Drugstore (ish) //

Hello darlings..

Since i enjoyed writing my last top three i thought i'd continue with my 'top three' series, today would be lipsticks! Looking back at the pictures i realized how similar colours they are! I apologize for that, but i guess i do have a favourite shade. I find these rosy nudes suit my skin tone the best, the work for almost every look and every season. I have included a matte, satin and creme texture lipstick. 

Mac's 'Velvet Teddy': £16.50. I'm cheating with this lipstick, its not technically drugstore (i'm sorry) but it is one of my all time favoruites. Its the very famous 'Velvet Teddy', its a  a brownish nude tone, i've heard people describe it as pink toned but i don't think it has any pink in, it has quite warm undertones. It is a matte but i find it very creamy on the lips, but as the day goes on it turns matte on the lips. 

Rimmel' Kate '08': £5.49. This is a lovely nude brown, very 90's.  I love the smell of this one, it smells like vanilla, which is always good in my books! I haven't got many of the Kate Moss lipsticks but i love this one so much i will have to look out for some more! 

Max Factor 'Rosewood' £ 7.99. This is one of my favourite all round shades, its a beautiful brownish pink, its got a little purple to it too. Its quite a warm shade perfect for Winter as well a Summer. Its very moisturizing, very creamy, its definitely not a matte its more stain finish, It its very pigmented with no shimmer or patchiness to it. I think this would be a great first lipstick for someone.

My Top five Summer lipsticks

Today's post would normally be my lip of the week but to switch things up a little i thought i'd do my top 5 favourite Summer lipsticks. Looking at the pictures i took, i realised how similar they all were, i guess i do have a favourite shade! But they are all different textures, different finishes and different lasting power. So i do need them all ;)

MAC 'Velvet Teddy'

First up is a MAC lipstick, this is my latest purchase and my latest lip of the week. I was worried it would be too dark for me but it actually complemented my skin tone quite well. It is a matte but i find it very creamy on the lips its almost a satin, like my MAC Brave lipstick. But as the day goes on it turns matte on the lips. It is very long lasting. This lipstick lives in my handbag as its quick and easy to apply.  

MAC 'Brave'

Brave is a stain finish, i knew that i didn't want a glossy or cream finish so i thought a stain would be perfect for my first MAC lipstick and it is. Its creamy on the lips but not shiny. Brave is a gorgeous colour, an everyday wearable natural shade but not a dead lips nude its more deep, its a pinky-mauve shade. Its very pigmented, it doesn't take too much to build it up to a strong colour. Its also one of my most wearable shades, it goes well with lots of makeup and fashion looks. 

Revlon 'Blushing Mauve'

This a gorgeous purple-pink colour that is very pigmented. Its a pearl finish, but it isnt' glittery. It was my first favourite lipstick, i use to take this everywhere with me! It was also my favourite finish before i discovered Mattes. There was a time where i got a little obsessed with Revlon! Revlon produces amazing lip products, most of my collection and lip of the weeks have feature their lip products. 

Max Factor 'Rosewood'

This is one of my favourite all round shades, its a beautiful brownish pink, its got a little purple to it too. Its quite a warm shade perfect for Winter as well a Summer. Its very moisturizing, very creamy, its definitely not a matte or stain finish, its very balmy and gives a shinny finish. It its very pigmented with no shimmer or patchiness to it. I think this would be a great first lipstick for someone. 

Rimmel Kate '08'

This is a lovely nude brown, very 90's, i almost want to say 'Kylie Jenner'. So if you're looking for that particular look, then this is great, drugstore alternative, especially if you're on a budget! Plus it smells like vanilla, which is always good in my books! I haven't got many of the Kate Moss lipsticks but i love this one so much i will have to look out for some more!

My Top 5 Spring Lipsticks: 2015 | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

I'm sorry i haven't been around so much recently but University is pretty crazy and stressful at the  moment so for the next few weeks i'll post when i can then after May my posting schedule (every other day) will be back to normal. Anyway enough complaining and making excuses Jessica, back to today's post! I really enjoyed making my top 5 Spring nail polishes (link) so i thought i'd make a lipstick one!

Revlon 'Pink In The Afternoon': This is a creamy everyday pretty pink that i have been wearing so much recently.  

Collection 'Satin Bow': This is the palest pink that looks great with a smokey eye. 

L'Oreal 'Blush Fever': One of my latest purchases, its a great lipstick for a night out and the packaging gorgeous!  

No7: This one i'm not sure what the name is, i'm sorry, i got it in my No7 Advent Calender last Christmas. It sheer pop of colour! Perfect for on the go.

 Revlon Matte Balm 'Elusive': The last one is one of my all time favourite lip products, its long lasting and so creamy. Plus they smell great amazing.

There is definitely a colour theme here, what can i say i love this shade! I think its very Spring/Summer appropriate!
