We wanted to wait till Summer to have him christened so we could have a garden party afterwards for all our friends and family. I've put together a few on my favourite pictures to give you a little insight into the wonderful day, i hope you enjoy.

March favourites // 2017

 Hello darlings.

Its been a while since i wrote a monthly favourites so i thought i'd write a quick one. I've been loving quite a few products this month some new products and a few oldies but goodies.
This was the first ever Mac product i bought, it will always be my favourite and hold a special place for me. Its the perfect shade for everyday. And being a new mum i have little time to get ready in the morning so its quick and easy to wear and i know it suits me.
Maybelline Satin Foundation
This is a new foundation for me, i ran out of my favourite Maybelline 'better than skin foundation' just after Christmas and i popped into Superdrug and they weren't selling it anymore so i picked up this one. I love it, its the perfect colour match, doesn't highlight my dry patches and it really does give a satin finish. Maybelline really do they best foundations!
I've mentioned this product before in my monthly favourites, this foot cream works miracles! I put a thick layer on in the evening and put my feet in fluffy socks. Then just before bed the cream is all absorbed and my feet are super soft. I know some people put it on before bed but i hate the feeling of wearing socks in bed. I've nearly run out of this tube so i will definitely be repurchasing this soon.
As you know i have recently become a mum and with that my stomach and thighs are COVERED in stretch marks. Although i used bio oil and moisturized daily during pregnancy it wasn't enough to prevent them. So now its my mission to turn them white and fade them before summer.
My boyfriend Will bought me this perfume Christmas 2015 and i've only rediscovered it recently. Its a gorgeous scent, i'm so bad at describing smells, But trust me if you see a tester in Boots/Superdrug/Debenhams etc then give it a try!

And lastly of course my baby boy Isaac, i love being a mummy and i'm so in love with him! How could he not be my favourite?!

I'd love to know what are your March favourites?

Introducing baby Isaac // Birth Story // Emergency C Section.

Hello darlings!

I know its been a while and like all my recent posts i'm starting with an apology about the lack of posts but and this time I have a good excuse for why I haven't found the time to write. I had a baby! Introducing baby Isaac, born 5 days early by Emergency C Section, on 21/02/17 at 18:57, weighing 5lbs 12oz (2.6kg).

Birth story:
I thought i'd share a little about my birth experience and show you guys a few pictures. I went into hospital on Sunday 19th after experiencing some blood loss and reduced movement. As i was so close to my due day (which was the 26th) the doctor decided to induce me and make sure he was safe. I had a pessary put in that night to start my contractions. The following lunch time (Monday) I started to go into labour but it wasn't till early Tuesday morning (3am) was I dilated enough to have my waters broken. After my waters were successfully broken I was put on to a hormone drip and monitored closely. This was not how I had planned to give birth but I made the best of the situation and all the doctors and midwifes were wonderful! The NHS is amazing and shouldn't be talked about so negatively.

I have to admit I was not prepared for the level of pain I was about to experience, I think I was a little naive about how painful contractions were going to be. I'd heard they were like period pains and thought I'd be able to handle it, but boy did I scream! I decided to see how far I could go without having any pain relief apart for gas and air. And I did pretty good; It was about 6pm on Tuesday when things started to go wrong, I was only 7cm dilated and my baby's heart rate was going down and things weren't moving along as quickly as they need to be for me to give birth vaginally. So I was taken into theatre and prep for surgery. Although I wasn't planning to have a C section and I was terrified, it was a really good experience.

Recovery
They say it takes 6 weeks to recover from a C section, my operation was 2 and half weeks ago and i'm still tender and taking it easy. I underestimated how long it would take to heal and have overdone it a couple times but now I'm letting people do things for me and taking this time to be with my little boy. People who say a C Section is the easy option and not really giving birth are idiots.

I'm successfully breastfeeding which I'm so happy about, it was painful for the first 4/5 days, my nipples were chapped and he was cluster feeding so he rarely left my breast. But i persevered and now we got it down. He's putting on weight well, hes gone from 2.6kg to 3.2kg! I have a feeling he is going to huge!
As I write this he is 16 days old and he can already hold his head up (not for long) and is so alert! He pulls the cutest little faces and even smiles (and no its not wind haha). That's it for today, welcome to the world little Isaac, I'm so happy and I look forward to mentioning him more on my blog in the future!

The Pregnancy Diaries #2 Gender Reveal: 23weeks

Hello darlings

I wasn't intending to wait till now to reveal the gender of my unborn baby as i had my gender scan three weeks ago! But we are happy to announce that its a boy! It was so funny at the scan, we wanted to know gender but we were aware that its not always possible to see, depending on the way the baby is laying etc. But within 20 seconds of her putting the scanner on my tummy she was like 'you guys wanna know gender? because i've just seen it!' haha!
Body changing:
  • I'm definitely getting larger, i've put on about 6kgs in the first 23 weeks, which i'm happy with as i know it could have been a lot more.
  • No more morning sickness, can i get a hooray!
  • Hormones not too bad a the moment, but i am easily irritated so we'll see how that goes.
  • TIREDNESS omg the struggle is real, i'm finding sleeping very hard and doing daily activities has become a challenge.

Cravings:
  • Mint, the amount of polos, soft mints, chewing gum, even toothpaste each day is shocking!
  • Also cleaning products, but don't worry i'm not eating them! But man they smell good, i went and bought Detol hand soap, i figured if i can't eat it i would bathe in it.

Movements:
  • Junior is one strong boy, i feel him all day everyday. He especially reacts to sounds and car movements. Last week Will was finally able to feel a kick from the outside!
Hopefully i wont go so long between up dates for my next pregnancy diary entry!

The pregnancy diaries #1 19 weeks

Hello darlings.

I didn't intend to make my first entry at 19 weeks i planned to start writing this series from the moment i found out i was having a baby. I really wanted to document everything that was happening to me so i could look back on them in the future if i ever had another child and also to talk to other mums. But that didn't go to plan. I've felt so tired and unmotivated to do anything which sadly includes blogging. But i'm giving it a go as i do miss it and i've noticed its been a month since i wrote a post, which is crazy as i normally write a couple a week! Anyway i thought i'd do a quick recap on the things that have happened in my first trimester and what happening now in my second.
(My bump snapchat picture so its not the highest quality.)

First trimester:

  • First off i suffered with terrible morning sickness, i don't know why they call it morning sickness when its all day sickness, i had it for about 10 weeks all day everyday. I hated the smell of everything enough the scent of my boyfriend would make me sick, sorry Will <3
  • Not only did i have sickness i was always tired, i had no energy or motivation to do thing which included blogging, going to work or even just popping out to buy milk.
  • Acne, my skin has suffered terribly in my first trimester, not only was my face covered in spots but my chest stated to get covered too, which sucks.

Second trimester

  • My second trimester is a little better, i feel a little more like myself. I'm still suffering from tiredness, i have no energy to do things, i'm sleeping a lot more during the day and i'm normally in bed by 9pm. Again no motivation to do anything.
  • My morning sickness is still here but i'm not sick everyday anymore which is great but little things still set it off.
  • Heartburn is a new thing i'm experiencing which i've never really suffered from before ad its really annoying.
  • My hormones are not too bad at present but i am more short tempered and cry more easily so maybe they are a little our of wack!
  • Dry lips, this is a random one i don't know if its pregnancy related or weather.
  • Finally kicks! They feel like little pokes (and sometimes very big pokes!) Unfortunately Will can't feel them on the outside yet, but hopefully that will come as the baby gets bigger. Even as i write this post the little one is kicking away! This is the most exciting past of the second trimester.

On Monday 10th October we have our 20 week scan and hopefully we'll find out the gender.
I just thought i'd update you guys and let you know me and baby are fine. Hopefully i'll get some inspiration and motivation back to write some more posts!

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!

Hello darlings.

If you follow me on Twitter (@LadyVintagex) you will have had to listen to my endless complaining about how sick i have been the last month or so. Even with all the pain and sickness i have the absolute pleasure to announce Will and myself are having a baby! Its just as much as surprise to us as it is to you guys that this has happened, but nonetheless we are thrilled with the news. Will and myself have always planned to have children they've just come a little earlier than planned! I thought i'd just make a little post about my pregnancy so far and whats been happening.
Symptoms:
I've been very unlucky that i've suffered very badly with morning sickness. I never know how my day is going to go. Some days i'm just sick in the morning, others its the morning and evening and sometimes it all day! Not only have i suffered with morning sickness i'm constantly tied too and very emotional. I'm sleeping a lot more than i use to which at the moment isn't an issue i'm only working part time and Uni is over so i'm doing ok. I'm only 12 weeks but i'm already very bloated and i have a small bump. Of course its not the baby yet as its only the size of a lime but i have gained about 3kgs in the first trimester. I'm very excited to get a bump though!
Telling people:
I was a little nervous about telling people, i knew my parents would be happy as i never hear the end of the fact they want grandchildren but telling Will's family and my friends i was nervous. But everyone reacted really well. My parents figured it out with all my sickness, they had put two and two together. Will's parents are very supportive his mum shedding a few tears of happiness. They are already talking about baby names! My friends have all been so positive too, i have already had many baby sitting offers!
Don't worry to my regular readers i'm not going to turn this into a pregnancy blog. I'm planning to carry on as normal and then add baby related posts when i hit certain milestone or when i'm dying to tell you guys something!

Overall i'm so pleased with everyone support and love. I just wanted to say thank you <3
