My Current Favourite Base: Maybelline BB Cream

Hello darlings

I haven't review a foundation product for quite some time. My favourite has always been the Revlon Colour Stay but since that ran out a few months ago instead of repurchasing i decided to use what i had in my collection. Over the years i've collected quite a few foundations that were just not quite right, they were either too pink or too yellow toned or too dark. The one that i have been loving and using the most is the Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream.

I should start off by saying i bought the one for oily skin rather than for dry skin but i don't regret it as it works for me. Also i bought it in the shade light which is the lightest shade they offer but unfortunately it is still a tiny bit dark for me but it will be perfect when i catch a bit more sun.
Packaging: Its a plastic tube which is great for travel. It fits perfectly into my handbag. It is a squeezey tube rather than a pump or a pourer. I like it as it looks different to any other foundations that i own. You get 30ml which is the standard for foundation or BB cream.
Texture: The product is really creamy and blendable. Its quite thick and not at all runny when you squeeze it on to your hand. It also doesn't dry to fast so you have time to blend before it sets which is great.

Coverage: It does not create a high coverage, this is to be expected with a BB cream. Its a sheer base perfect for summer, you can let your skin breathe. But i have found that it is build able on the areas that i needed it, for example i add more under my eyes a don my acne scares. I found doing this didn't make it cakey.

Finish: It creates a natural looking and almost matte finish. I'm really happy with it as i don't need to powder.

Our Dream Pure BB Cream is a 1-step wonder for healthy-looking skin today and clearer skin  tomorrow.
Clears acne
Conceals imperfections
Minimizes look of pores
Reduces appearance of redness
Adjusts to skin tone
Hydrates and smoothes
Enhances and clarifies skin
Is oil-free, with a lightweight feel

2% salicylic acid is one of the highest percentages of this powerful blemish-fighter that you can get without a prescription, yet it's gentle enough to use every day.

I feel it hasn't cleared up my skin but saying that i don't think this foundation has made it worst as i haven't had any break out since. So maybe it does work? I will keep using it and see and let you guys know! I do think it minimizes my pores and blurs everything together. I also agree that it feels lightweight on the skin and feels smooth. Over all i really like this product the only thing i wish i could change is the colour. I also think this product works for dry skin as well as oily. I should also mention that i know this is different from the Asian BB creams and it doesn't do the same thing but i'm happy with it and will continue to use it.

I'd love to know have you tried this product?
What are your thoughts?

  1. Lovely post. I personally love the chichi BB cream. I don't have good luck when it comes to maybelline base products.
