Lip of the week 35 // Maybelline Lip paint.

Hello darlings.

How are you all?

Today's post is my lip of the week, this product is new to me. its the Maybelline Lip Paint in 'Stripped Down'. I bought it on Fragrance Direct a couple weeks back for £1.25! But since i've had a little look on the Boots and Superdug websites but i couldn't find them on there. But the fragrance direct link is here and the link to buy them on the Mayeblline website. So i know the range is still available.

I only purchased this lip paint about 2 weeks ago and i have worn it non stop.
The packing is a tube with a doefer applicator at the end, its not one that you can take out its attached to the packaging. So you squeeze and the product comes out. I quite like the applicator, its soft and applies the product evenly. But i know people will have a problem with it do to hygiene but as i'm only going to use the product on myself i'm not worried. But you can squeeze a small amount on to the back of you hand and apply with a brush if preferred.
The colour is a beautiful nude, very 90s. Its pink toned but not too pink, i was worried looking at the picture online that it would be a straight up pink shade instead of a nude but its not. Its a beautiful natural nude.

The texture, its a very liquidy, its quite glossy when you apply it but after a bit of wear time it dries down matte. The product is really comfortable on the lips and last a really long time. But sadly its not transfer proof.
My two year old son Isaac helping mummy take swatch pictures!
Overall i really love this lip paint, i'd love to know have you tried this product?

Bargain alert! // Poundland finds

Hello darlings

Today's post is a quick post about the makeup i found in Poundland. I like to have a little nose around the makeup in Poundland as sometimes you can find little gems. I haven't really tried anything from their own brad but i do like when they have branded makeup. I popped in last week to buy and drink and again had a little nose as i do and the stand was full of products! L'Oreal, Bourjois, Maybelline, Models Own, NYC, Rimmel, Cover girl you name it. So i thought i would just share it with you quickly in case they still have some in your local Poundland so you can get some bargains too!
I picked up 2 nail polishes, both from Bourjois, one nude and one 90's nude. I also chose 2 blushers, one from Bourjois and one from Maybelline. I don't own any cream blushers to the liquid one from Bourjois i am very excited to try! I also picked up 2 brow products i see a theme here! A Brow Artist Sculpt from L'Oreal i've always wanted to try this when it was at the drugstore but i didn't want to pay £8 for it so i'm so happy to have found it. I also picked up a brow mascara from Bourjois which is so lucky as i needed a new one. I don't own any makeup from Models own only nail polishes but i chose this rosy nude lipstick, its a sheer formula but very pretty! Lastly a liquid liner from Bourjois and as you can ever have too many!

Each products cost between £5-£10 each and i only paid £8 for all of them, so chuffed!

Disappointing Products // Part 1

Hello darlings.

Today's post is a little disappointing products post. I'm one of those people who plan on writing these posts but i don't wanna offend anyone. Which is crazy because we all love and hate different products, if it works for me it might not work for you and vise versa and thats okay!

I keep putting products that i don't like into a bag and forget to blog about them and then it becomes overwhelming. I have a huge bag of things too many to include in one post so i'm gonna split them up into a couple of posts.

**Disclaimer just because it didn't work for me doesn't' mean it wont work for you, i don't hate any brands included in this post, there have been products from them i have loved but sadly these were a miss for me.**
I'm pale hence why i bought the light Hoola, i was worried the original Hoola would be too dark for me. But this has very little colour, and the colour it does give the face is orange. It really didn't work for me, which was shame as it blended really nicely and it was £25.50 so it wasn't the cheapest. Maybe i could use it as a eye shadow to get use out of it.

This is a weird one, the wand is like nothing i have ever seen before. I find because of the shape wand it didn't catch all my lashes, therefore not the easiest to apply. It didn't give me the volume i was hoping, definitely not a false lash affect. I'm tempted to put another wand in the tube and still use up the product as it wasn't the product that wasn't good, it was the applicator. I normally really like the LO'real Mascaras but this was a miss for me.

The wand on the mascara wasn't as bad as the L'Oreal, i was able to apply the product more easily the problem i had was it was super clumpy on my small lashes, i think for some who have thick long lashes this would really work and i've heard so many good review, hence why i purchased it. But sadly for me its just not he right product, i'm not a fan of spider lashes.

I was excited to try this product as it was only £4.50 which is a good price for a drugstore concealer and if i liked it would be cheap to repurchase. Sadly this concealer had no coverage and the colour was far too dark which sucked as its the lightest shade available. I think there are a lot better concealers for a similar price at the drugstore, for example, the Revolution Conceal and Define and the Lasting Perfection from Collection.

MUA Brow Luxe: £4.00.
I purchased this brow product when it was on sale for £2.00. I choose the shade medium brown..... its red. Its way too warm for me. Saying that its a nice crayon, nice texture, its creamy but not too waxy and powder in theory a really nice product just a bad shade for me. Maybe i'll go back and try the darker shade.

This is the only skincare product included in today post, if i don't like something skincare related i tend to just chuck it away. My first problem with this product is the scent, its way too floral for me.
Plus it didn't do anything for my pores sadly. It felt nice on the skin but it didn't do what it said and i couldn't stop smelling the scent on my face

I'd love to know some of the products you didn't love?

Favourite Winter Liquid Lipsticks // Drugstore

Hello darlings.

Today's post is abut my current favourite autumn/winter liquid lipsticks. These are all beautiful mauve/berry colours. And all affordable, thats right they are drugstore beauties.
I hope you enjoy!
This is the newest liquid lipstick to add to my collection. I'd really wanted this for a while as i'd heard so many people rave about them! I'll tell you one thing this stuff stays on! Even may makeup remover struggled to get it off. It certainly is a superstay product. Its quite drying, its not too bad for me but its not the most comfortable liquid lipstick i've tried. Its a lovely brown nude, the kind of shade i like to wear everyday. Nice creamy texture and dries quite quickly.

This is the most autumnal colour i have out of the three its also the only product i've tried from Lottie London. Its a beautiful berry colour, this is probably the darkest i'll go as any darker they tend to wash me out and makes my teeth look darker. This one dries quicker than the Maybelline one, its long lasting and very comfortable on the lips!

This is the rosy colour of the three. Very pretty and good for everyday and would suit people the most. Its quite sticky at first when you apply it, takes a minute to dry down. It has a nice shaped applicator, more of a rectangle the only thing is to put a lip liner on first as it quite hard with this shape applicator to get it neat around the edges of your lips. Other than that its a really great product, its long lasting and comfortable on the lips.
I'd love to know what are some of your favourite autumn/winter lips?

Kisses

Revolution Makeup has done it again.....

 Hello darlings.

So i did it again.... i bought more makeup (someone needs to stop me) but to be fair I haven't purchased a new foundation in ages (After writing these have bought a couple more....ooops, i know i'm terrible, Bad Jessica! ) When i first saw this on the Revolution Instagram i knew i had to have it, it called my name. With a heart beat went on to the Superdrug website and purchased it, plus it was 3 for 2 so how could i not! If you'd like to know what else i purchased let me know and i'll haul it for you lovelies.

I LOVE the conceal and define concealer so when i saw they had a foundation to match i was so excited! So here are my thoughts, i hope you enjoy.
Packaging:
Its basically a huge version of the the concealer, its kinda unreal. It is bizarre holding it, i don't know how to describe it. Its a nice heavy glass bottle, feels study, good quality, it feels a lot more expensive than £9! Its not a pump bottle its the same as the concealer with dofer applicator. Which i really like, it like the way of applying things, it means i can't use to much and waste any, but i can see why people might not like it for sanity reasons.

Shade:
24 shades! Same as concealer, incredible. I chose the shade F2 which i also have it in the Revolution Pro concealer and foundation and the fast base concealer and foundation. But the conceal and define concealer i have in F1, F2 is more yellow based and F1 more neutral. Pop onto the revolution website as they are better at describing all the shade and their undertones than i am! Its a nice colour, a tad too light for me know, i still have a little tan from summer but gave it a month or two and it will be perfect!
Texture and Finish:
Its a really thick and creamy consistency, you only need a little! It definitely feels like the concealer only larger. The finish is flawless, you skin doesn't look like skin, it looks air brushed and photographs really well. It makes my skin feel soft which is a bonus.

Blendabilty: and Layering:
It blended out nicely, i used both a brush and a beauty blended on different occasions, i think the beauty blended worked a little nicer. Layering the foundation did turn a little cakey so i will stick with one layer maybe adding a little extra under my eyes. When i put my contour, blush and highlight on top it layered really nicely.
Long lasting?
I wore this foundation for work and it lasted really nicely, i probably worn this for 10-12 hours.

Overall i'm super impressed with this foundation and i'm so glad i purchased it! Makeup revolution you did it again! You can purchase it here.

I'd love to know have you tried this foundation?
What else should i try from Revolution?

Kisses x

Revolution Pro Supreme Matte Lip Pigment // Review

Hello darlings.

Today post wasn't the post i'd planned i was going to do an updated skin care routine as i've changed things up a little since last time but my camera broke! Can anyone recommend me a good camera? Let me know down in the comments

So today's post is instead my review on the Revolution Pro Supreme Matte Lip Pigment. I've tried a few things from Revolution Pro and i've been really impressed, i know that some of their line has had mixed reviews and that they are not as good as their regular Makeup Revolution but so far i haven't been disappointed.
Packaging and price:
I like the packaging i think i really nice, its black and sleek with the colour of the pigment on the side which is really handy, so if you purchase more than one when you line them up on your vanity or in your draw you can see each colour. Price is £4 which is amazing for a liquid lipstick.

Shades:
I found it really hard to tell the shade colours online and as i don't have a a Revolution pro stand near where i live. I googled and looked Pinterest for swatches but could hardly find any! But from the few swatches i saw there was a couple that i liked the look of. So i purchase a few items online a week ago and i choose the shade 'Elevation'. I'm pleased with the colour i choose, it is a little more purple that i was expecting, but still beautiful all the same! I think its more suited for Autumn than summer so its nice to add to my collection.
Application
It has a nice shaped application, more of a rectangle, (i wish i took a pic but again with my camera situation, when i get a new one i'll update this post but i really wanted to get a post up for you guys today!) So it is a little awkward to apply to the lips. I do advise putting a lip liner on first as it quite hard with this shape applicator to get it neat around the edges of your lips.

Texture:
When applied it does take a while to dry down its quite sticky at first. But my goodness is it comfortable! I wasn't expecting this, i normally find liquid lipsticks quite annoying and uncomfortable on the lips and can only wear them for a little while. I tried to read reviews of this product before buying but i couldn't find a huge amount for i wasn't sure what the texture would be like, but i am really happy with it.

Longevity:
The colour stayed on my lips for a good few hours, it didn't transfer on to mugs when drinking. It also wore away nicely when i ate.

You can purchase them here

Overall i'm really happy i purchased this, I'd love to know have you tried any of these Supreme Matte Pigments?

A different kind of subscription box // Pink Parcel // Discount code

Hello darlings

I was kindly contacted by pink Parcel and asked if i would like to review one of their boxes and of course i said yes! I'd seen quite a bit about this subscription box on Instagram so i was really excited to try one myself as i was thinking of subscribing anyway.

Basically for those who haven't heard about Pink Parcel they are a monthly subscription similar to Glossy Box and Birch Box but with a twist. This box focuses on your period and how that on your time of the month you need and deserve a little indulgence. This box is filled with everything you need while on your period, all the essentials tampons, sanitary pads etc but also is filled with exciting goodies, like tea, chocolate, makeup and skincare products.
Their website says:
'Our priority is making women feel their absolute best even when that time of the month rolls around. With essentials for now, for night and for later, as well as amazing beauty, skincare and lifestyle products, all you need to do is sit back and indulge.'
The box is divided into 4 sections, the 'for you' box which is the exciting part, its filled with little beauty items and treats. The 'for night' which has night time sanitary pads. The 'for later' box which has tampons and pads and the 'little pink bag' is also filled with tampons and sanitary pads for on the go. Its a cute little pink bag that you can keep in your handbag and be discrete.
The beauty products this month included:
Green frog Botanic Natural Body Wash in 'Relaxing Peppermint'
Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara
Jelly Pong Pong Coffee and Coconut Lip scrub
Beauty Pro Eye Therapy Under Eye Mask
Catherine Malandrino Perfume
2 Piece  of Cocoba Orange Milk Chocolate
Multea Green Tea.

I haven't tried any of them yet so this is just a first impressions, but i'm really pleased with the selection as these subscription boxes can be really hit or miss.
Overall i'm really impressed by this box! From less that £11 a month including postage is pretty amazing.

For 20% off  your first box use the code 'PP20'.

You can subscribe here.

I'd love to know have you tried this subscription?

The Slimfast 7 Day Challenge // Weight Loss

Hello darlings

I'm not gonna lie i don't normally buy into 'fad' diets i would say just buy and banana and go for run, it would be more sustainable and better for your purse to do that rather than joining a scheme or buy into these miracle diets.

But i saw these challenge kits on offer for £10 (the shake on it on normally is £7.29) I've tried the snack bars before and have often had them on my breaks at work (i could have chocolate and it would be under 100 cals, i mean whats not to love?) So i thought why not try it. I mean its only for one week and if i lose some weight great but if not then its only a week. What have i got to loose? i' like to be convinced that these diets work.
I've already lost 6.5kg (1st) since January by myself just by changing my diet and increasing my fitness. I still would like to lose another stone.
The kits comes with a strawberry shake, 2 chocolate meal replacement bars, 3 sour cream and chive pretzels, 4 cheddar cheese bits, 4 caramel bars and 3 chocolate bars.

You also have to drink 2 litres of water a day and do regular exercise.
I think what a lot of people think about slim fast and other diet brands is that it is some miracle product that you only eat theses shakes and bars and all your weight will come off, not true. Inside this pack you get a meal plan and voucher off your next slimfast purchase.

The meal plan is very good as it shows you still to live a healthy lifestyle, still eat healthy meals and snacks. But you incorporate slimfast snacks and shakes into that, don't just live on the bars. Which i think is pretty good.

My main worry with this is that once i stop i'll just put all the weight back on, maybe thats how they get you, so you have to keep buying their products!

I started this diet yesterday and had planned to post this last night but life got in the way.

You can buy the kit here

I will report back a week today ad let you know how i get on!

My current weight is 61kg, we shall see what it is next week! Wish me luck!

My Current Favourites // July 2017

Hello darlings!

Can you believe it is already the end of July! What? Where is this year going? I can't believe Isaac is now 5 months old. I haven't done a favourites post for a while as i feel i'm not using enough different products month to month to fill a post and to make it worth reading and i don't want to just put products in a post for the sake of making a post. So i'm just going to do them when i feel like i have something i really want to share with you guys.
Botanic Eye Serum: i reviewed this in my previous post (link) this has been my favourite skincare product this month, i haven't put it down! I use it in the morning before i put on my makeup, i have always found putting a eye cream under on before your concealer it make sit last longer. I also put a lot of before i go to bed, i really smoother it on! The product is great for reducing my dark circles and frown lines, its one of new holy grails.

Calvin Klein Lipstick in 'Undressed': this is one of the best everyday lipstick i own and it feel a little special as its a high end one that i got form less than £4, to find out how (post). The packing is so cute, i love the feel of it, it feels expensive. The product smells wonderful, like Mac lipsticks but stronger. Its pigmented and glides on the lips beautifully. I think this will definitely be making it into a lip of the week soon, so look out for that one!

Makeup Revolution Contour Palette: Who doesn't own some sort of contour palette from Makeup Revolution? They are so amazing, you can see i've already hit pan on the highlighter shade. I wear the highlight daily, i provides quite a strong highlight so you might not like it if you prefer more subtle sheen. I try to wear a light contour as much as i can but lets be honest who has time, especially with a 5 month old, can i get an amen from the mummy bloggers out there....

Nuxe Rev De MielThis is a luxury lip balm, its so creamy and smells wonderful, like oranges, mmm just thinking about it makes me want to put it on. I wouldn't recommend wearing this as a everyday product, its more of a mask that is best applied at night or as a treat during a pamper day/evening.
*** New Instagram***
I'd really appreciate it if you could check out my new Instagram page, i use to put all my blog posts on my personal one but now i've decided to split the two.  Let me know if you followed, put your Insta link in the comments and i'll check out your Insta!

I'd love to know have you tired any of these products?
What are some  of you July Favourites?

NOTD: Essie's Thigh High

Hello darlings

Today post is just a quick one about the nail polish i'm currently wearing and loving. Its Essie Thigh High, i mentioned i got this in my last haul and i love it!. Its the perfect shade for this time of year. Its a gorgeous red wine colour with a little shimmer/sheen in it. Making it look a little bit special. It was opaque after one coat but i always but two on just out of habit.
The only sad part i that it chipped after a few days which for an Essie nail polish is always annoying. I got this one for a bargain of £2.99 but if i'd paid full price at £7.99 i'd be pretty annoyed. Next time i might try a different top coat to see if it helps as its so pretty and i want to wear this on Christmas day!

Id love to know what nail polishes are you guys loving at the moment?
What do you think of this one?

Budget Beauty Haul: #1 Fragrance Direct

Hello darlings

Recently i've been a little obsessed with online shopping but as Christmas is coming up and i've got a baby on the way i know i need to save the pennies! Similar to lots of people at the moment so i've been trying to find great deals online and save myself a little but of cash. So i'm going to add to my little bargain series and include hauls to it as well and places/websites to get great deals!

The first one is Fragrance Direct, i'd heard of this website a couple times as Miss Budget Beauty mentioned it is the site where she gets her Essie Nail polishes from so i finally decided to check it out and i found so really good items.
I'd been wanting to try some products from Charles Worthington for a while but they always seemed so expensive and i didn't want to part with the money. And when i finally did some of the products i wanted weren't stocked in Boots anymore.  I picked up:
Charles Worthington Shine Booster Conditioner // £2.99
Charles Worthington Split End Blinder // £2.99
Charles Worthington Heat Defense Spray // 99p
As mentioned previously Miss Budget Beauty said this is where she got a few of her Essie Polishes from. I love Essie Nail polishes and when i saw they had them for £2.99 i knew i had to grab a couple!
Essie Nail Polish in Thigh High //£2.99
Essie Nail polish in Tying the Knoite // £2.99
L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Polish in 205 // 99p
I also picked up a couple of makeup items too. I'm a big fan of winged liner so i stocked up and there was a blusher and concealer that caught my eye too.
Max Factor Concealer in Fair (Only note its not fair! Its quite dark) // £3.95
Maybelline Master Liner // £1.99
BC Cosmetics Blusher Quad // 99p
Bourjois Felt Liner // £2.99
I'm always in need of more brushes (i terribly lazy at washing them so i just keep buying cleans ones, but shhh!) So i picked up this Technic Blending Brush // £1.99

Here is the website link

I'd love to know have you ordered from fragrance direct before?
What real bargains have you got lately?

Budget Makeup Look // Everything Under £10

Hello darlings.

I thought i'd do a quick little makeup look, i haven't done one is ages and i thought i'd do a budget friendly one. Apart from the BB cream and lipstick everything is under £5 so its great if you're young or on a budget or just like a bargain like me!
Base:
Maybelline BB Cream in light // £6.99 // Link
Seventeen Concealer in light // £4.49 // Link
Seventeen Powder in Porcelain // £3.99 // Link
Freedom Pro Glow // £3.50 // Link
Eyes/eyebrows:
Maybelline Brow Drama in 'Medium Brown' // £4.99 // Link
Primark Eye shadow Quad // £2.50 // Link (not online)
E.L.F Mineral Infused Mascara // £4.50 // Link
Lips:
Maybelline Lipstick in 'Tantalizing Taupe // £6.99 // Link
The look <3
Stand outs:
The Seventeen concealer and powder are two of my staple makeup items, i have continued to repurchase time and time again and their price doesn't break the bank. Another strong favourite from the look is the Maybelline Brow Gel, its a perfect colour match and give just a little something to make your brows thicker and fuller.

Let downs:
The eye shadow palette isn't as pigmented as i'd had hoped, but with anything makeup item you can make it work, just keep building up the colour and take your time. The Freedom highlighter is a little too sheeny and too orangey (not too look at it) for me to use for blush/bronzer but as a highlighter its good if you just focus on the golden colour in the middle.

Birthday Nails, My 22nd Birthday!!

Hello darlings

I thought i'd do a quick little post about my birthday nails, i was so happy with how they turned out, i had to write a blog post! My birthday is today! I can't believe i'm 22 already!

I got this gorgeous nail polish in a Christmas set last Christmas as a gift from Primark. But i have to admit i saw it said they were from Primark and i didn't think they'd be very good so i just put them on a shelf with the rest of my collection and they went unused.
But boy was i wrong, this is the most gorgeous rose gold nail polish! On the nails it looks really textured but its very smooth. I only needed one coat to get them opaque which was really impressive from a budget brand. They were fast drying which is always great, i know i'm not the only one who hates waiting for nails to dry!

Overall i'm really impressed!

I'd love to know what you think/

The Pregnancy Diaries #2 Gender Reveal: 23weeks

Hello darlings

I wasn't intending to wait till now to reveal the gender of my unborn baby as i had my gender scan three weeks ago! But we are happy to announce that its a boy! It was so funny at the scan, we wanted to know gender but we were aware that its not always possible to see, depending on the way the baby is laying etc. But within 20 seconds of her putting the scanner on my tummy she was like 'you guys wanna know gender? because i've just seen it!' haha!
Body changing:
  • I'm definitely getting larger, i've put on about 6kgs in the first 23 weeks, which i'm happy with as i know it could have been a lot more.
  • No more morning sickness, can i get a hooray!
  • Hormones not too bad a the moment, but i am easily irritated so we'll see how that goes.
  • TIREDNESS omg the struggle is real, i'm finding sleeping very hard and doing daily activities has become a challenge.

Cravings:
  • Mint, the amount of polos, soft mints, chewing gum, even toothpaste each day is shocking!
  • Also cleaning products, but don't worry i'm not eating them! But man they smell good, i went and bought Detol hand soap, i figured if i can't eat it i would bathe in it.

Movements:
  • Junior is one strong boy, i feel him all day everyday. He especially reacts to sounds and car movements. Last week Will was finally able to feel a kick from the outside!
Hopefully i wont go so long between up dates for my next pregnancy diary entry!
