Underrated products // Collection Speedy Highlighter

Hello darlings

Sorry i've been a little absent, i've had a couple of weeks away. I popped down to Devon with my in-laws, Will and Isaac for a week and then to London with Will for a few nights. Plus many day trips and house renovating. But now i'm back to work and everything is settling back down to normal.

I had a little idea while i was away, to do a series all about what i believe are underrated products. The first product is one that is a rediscovery, its a product i've had in my collection for a while. The Collection Speedy Highlighter. I always forget i have this products as i've always used powder highlighters. So this one always get overlooked. But every now and then i reach for it and fall in love again.
The packaging is simple but effective. Its a cream stick highlighter. So it is easy to use, you put it directly on to your face. Or if prefer put a brush on the end and apply it that way. Both ways work.

The colour, Its not too pink or golden tone its a happy in the middle colour. Great on my skin tone, i would say its good for light to medium skin tone. I am pretty pale but currently with the lovely weather in England (i know i'm shocked too) i'm a little tanned. It creates a a perfect sheen, not a in your face shine. But you can build it up to that if you wish.  It doesn't have any chunky glitter  or sparkle, its a sheen.

I find it blends beautifully and looks really natural on my skin. Its great for my every day makeup. Plus i think it photographs really nicely!
You can buy it here for £3.99

I'd love to know have you tried this highlighter what are your thoughts?
Are there any products you think are underrated and need more love?

Dare magazine // June 2019

Hello darlings.

I thought i would come on here quick just to let you know about the latest issue of DARE magazine. I love getting this magazine its always such good value. I'm a bit late writing this as it has been out for a while. I remember i missed the last issue and i was gutted. The June issue has 2 products and several sachets which is perfect as i go on holiday in 2 weeks so perfect timing. It was £3 and has the value of £11.
It comes with a sample of J Low's Enduring glow perfume which smells amazing. A sample of the shampoo and conditioner of the Mane n Tail, i've heard so many good things about this brand and i look forward to trying this. A full size Revolution liquid highlight in the shade Rose Gold, this is £6 so double what i paid so this alone makes the purchase worth it. Its a little bit dark for my skin tone but i will make it work as it is so beautiful. Maybe an an eye shadow? Next a mini Colgate tooth paste, great for my holiday. A Hawaiian Tropic Sun Cream sample again great for my holiday! Its like they knew. Lastly the magazine also contains a book of vouchers to spend at Superdrug, these are points vouchers and discounts on their nail and brow bar.
Have you picked up your copy?

Disappointing Products // Part 1

Hello darlings.

Today's post is a little disappointing products post. I'm one of those people who plan on writing these posts but i don't wanna offend anyone. Which is crazy because we all love and hate different products, if it works for me it might not work for you and vise versa and thats okay!

I keep putting products that i don't like into a bag and forget to blog about them and then it becomes overwhelming. I have a huge bag of things too many to include in one post so i'm gonna split them up into a couple of posts.

**Disclaimer just because it didn't work for me doesn't' mean it wont work for you, i don't hate any brands included in this post, there have been products from them i have loved but sadly these were a miss for me.**
I'm pale hence why i bought the light Hoola, i was worried the original Hoola would be too dark for me. But this has very little colour, and the colour it does give the face is orange. It really didn't work for me, which was shame as it blended really nicely and it was £25.50 so it wasn't the cheapest. Maybe i could use it as a eye shadow to get use out of it.

This is a weird one, the wand is like nothing i have ever seen before. I find because of the shape wand it didn't catch all my lashes, therefore not the easiest to apply. It didn't give me the volume i was hoping, definitely not a false lash affect. I'm tempted to put another wand in the tube and still use up the product as it wasn't the product that wasn't good, it was the applicator. I normally really like the LO'real Mascaras but this was a miss for me.

The wand on the mascara wasn't as bad as the L'Oreal, i was able to apply the product more easily the problem i had was it was super clumpy on my small lashes, i think for some who have thick long lashes this would really work and i've heard so many good review, hence why i purchased it. But sadly for me its just not he right product, i'm not a fan of spider lashes.

I was excited to try this product as it was only £4.50 which is a good price for a drugstore concealer and if i liked it would be cheap to repurchase. Sadly this concealer had no coverage and the colour was far too dark which sucked as its the lightest shade available. I think there are a lot better concealers for a similar price at the drugstore, for example, the Revolution Conceal and Define and the Lasting Perfection from Collection.

MUA Brow Luxe: £4.00.
I purchased this brow product when it was on sale for £2.00. I choose the shade medium brown..... its red. Its way too warm for me. Saying that its a nice crayon, nice texture, its creamy but not too waxy and powder in theory a really nice product just a bad shade for me. Maybe i'll go back and try the darker shade.

This is the only skincare product included in today post, if i don't like something skincare related i tend to just chuck it away. My first problem with this product is the scent, its way too floral for me.
Plus it didn't do anything for my pores sadly. It felt nice on the skin but it didn't do what it said and i couldn't stop smelling the scent on my face

I'd love to know some of the products you didn't love?

My Birthday makeup // My 24th

Hello darlings.

Today i thought i would do a little post on the makeup i wore for my 24th Birthday last week. (sorry the picture isn't the best but you know Winter lighting)
I had a wonderful day with my friends and family, we went out to lunch and then watched Dead pool 2 and ordered a Chippy dinner, perfect.
I did simple golden makeup for my birthday. It was quite a casual day so i went with a neutral look.

Favourite Winter Liquid Lipsticks // Drugstore

Hello darlings.

Today's post is abut my current favourite autumn/winter liquid lipsticks. These are all beautiful mauve/berry colours. And all affordable, thats right they are drugstore beauties.
I hope you enjoy!
This is the newest liquid lipstick to add to my collection. I'd really wanted this for a while as i'd heard so many people rave about them! I'll tell you one thing this stuff stays on! Even may makeup remover struggled to get it off. It certainly is a superstay product. Its quite drying, its not too bad for me but its not the most comfortable liquid lipstick i've tried. Its a lovely brown nude, the kind of shade i like to wear everyday. Nice creamy texture and dries quite quickly.

This is the most autumnal colour i have out of the three its also the only product i've tried from Lottie London. Its a beautiful berry colour, this is probably the darkest i'll go as any darker they tend to wash me out and makes my teeth look darker. This one dries quicker than the Maybelline one, its long lasting and very comfortable on the lips!

This is the rosy colour of the three. Very pretty and good for everyday and would suit people the most. Its quite sticky at first when you apply it, takes a minute to dry down. It has a nice shaped applicator, more of a rectangle the only thing is to put a lip liner on first as it quite hard with this shape applicator to get it neat around the edges of your lips. Other than that its a really great product, its long lasting and comfortable on the lips.
I'd love to know what are some of your favourite autumn/winter lips?

Kisses

July favourites // 2018 // Higher End

Hello darlings

Today's post is my July favourite,s do people still enjoy reading monthly favourites? I know i still love reading them, do people find them a little old news now? let me know in the comments! This month i've been trying new products and have done a LOT of shopping, oops! Don't tell Will.

I'm really enjoying this hair cream i'm not usually one for using hair products i tend to wash my hair put heat protector on it an leave it. A top it up with dry shampoo during the week but that's pretty much it, i'm not very good at doing things with my hair, i'm much better at makeup. But since i had my hair cut i've been trying more products. I picked this up on clearance for about 89p, crazy! considering full price its £8.23, i think its because its in the old packaging. It gives me natural waves that last till i brush them out, its great because it means i don't have to use heat on my hair.

Nip and Fab Glycolic Cleansing Pads, £14.95. (Currently half price at £7.48)!)
I'm not if i've mentioned these pads in a favourites post before, i'm pretty sure i have as they are my holy grail. I love how these make my skin feel, they are a little more expensive than i normally pay but i heard so many great reviews on them and i'm so glad i purchased them and this is probably my fourth pot?
This is the first liquid highlighter i have purchased. I have a cream and LOTS of powder ones but not any liquid ones. These are the type you mix into your foundation or use as a stand alone highlight. Giving you more of a natural look. This Gold Euphoric is super pretty and i'm really enjoy using it on more natural makeup days. I need to try more from the collection.

Mac Prep and Prime, (full price £22.50)
I only have a sample of this which i've nearly used up so i need to pick up a full size one. I got this free when i bought one of the Mac lip kits. This is so good, i'm not usually one to remember to use a primer but this month i have to wear it everyday in this heat! This leave my skin feeling so good and an excellence base for my makeup and it keeps it n place all day!

Morphe 35 Taupe Palette, £23.00. (On offer for £14 on Beauty Bay)
Lastly my newest palette to add to my collection, it is the Morphe 35 Taupe Palette. I've only had this for just over a week but i couldn't not include it! Beauty Bay is discounting Morphe as they are opening their on site and store in England so Beauty Bay has the 'break up sale', which i took full advantage off! I've wanted this palette for a long time, it is filled with the shades that i wear daily, i think taupe and gold suit me the best. I buy so many warm palettes hoping that they will suite me but i don't think they do at least not all the time, but cool tone bronzes and browns do.

I'd love to know what are some of your July favourites? How is is August soon!?!

My current skincare routine // Summer 2018

Hello darlings

Today's post is an updated skin care routine, i'm obsessed with skincare, i'm always looking for new products to try but my current routine is actually quite simple. I feel like i'm always buying products and over complicating it. I see so many peoples routines and think doesn't that take you ages? Or its too many products for you skin and it can't be good? But i've finally found a routine that works for my skin.

Skin type: Normal/dry.

In the morning i only use two products, i don't have a whole lot of time. I have a baby and any other mums reading this knows what its like to have to try and get ready when they are running round and you need to keep an eye on them.  I just wash my face with Garnier Nourishing Botanical Face Wash, i do this in the shower as its just easy. Then i moisturize with the L'Oreal Revitalift Centella Repair Cream, i love this, it feels amazing on my skin. I've only got a little left so i will need to repurchase. I use it under my makeup, i put a double layer under my eyes to use as an eye cream, i also find it helps to keep my concealer on longer and it applies nicer to.
My night time routine is again simple, i first use the B. Micellar Water to take off my makeup. I've tried quite a few Micellar waters over the years and i have to say this is one of the better ones. It takes off all my makeup, cleanses my skin and its a great price! Then i use the Nip and Fab Exfloiator Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads. OMG these pads are my absolute favourite item in my skincare routine, this has to be the 4th or 5th pot i've purchased. I was skeptical about use i them at first as they are quite expensive but i'm so glad i bit the bullet and tried them. They exfoliate and cleanse which is brilliant i love 2 in 1 products. Lastly i use the Nip and Fab Post Glycolic Moisturizer i've only just started using this but so far i'm loving it, the only things is it takes a little time to soak into the skin. But it has a gorgeous scent!

I'd love to know what products are you using in your daily skincare routine?
Are there any ones i should try?

Forgotten Products. // Drugstore

Hello darlings

Today's post is all about those products that i love but don't use very often (I'm sure ill come up with a better title than that). I have a whole beauty table full of products that i love and bought for a reason but just get forgotten about. I stick to the same products day in day out. This post is just a reminder to myself to why i love them, why i bought them and why they should get a little more attention. I'm gonna try and make this a semi regular thing, so that i get use out of them and might even remind you guys to love some of them lost gems.
Nip and Fab eye shadow palette in Sculpted: £12.95.
I purchased this palette on Black Friday and i got it as part of an amazing deal (link). I do love this palette, the shades are creamy, very pigmented and blend beautifully. But the shades are all very similar you can't create a huge amount of looks from it, they all end up looking the same or very dark. I could use them a long side another palette but i like a palette to have everything i need it in, a base, crease and lid. Which to be fair this does its just not a everyday palette for me.

I really like this concealer but i just don't reach for it as often as i'd like i always have other concealers that i prefer. But this is a really nice concealer, it creamy, brightening and pigmented. I need to put it in my everyday makeup bag and make myself use it.

I have a whole draw full of primers that i never sue, i keep buying them and forget that they are there. This Max Factor one if one of the better ones but i never remember to apply it before foundation. I have dry skin so i moisturizer before i apply my foundation, otherwise the application tends to be pretty awful no matter what foundation it is. Maybe a primer would also fix this?

Again primers! I have so many eye shadow primers too, but again i rarely remember it before i apply my eye shadow. I do i find that a primer do usually makes my shadow brighter and stays on longer. This Makeup Revolution shadow primer is only £2.50, how brilliant is that! Very affordable.

Sleek Blusher in pomegranate £4.99.
Lastly i new a blusher would be in here.sI own do may pretty blushers, i see them in the shops and i fall in love but i rarely use them. I contour and highlight daily but i always feel if i add blush too its too much. And i would rather have a contoured face than a blushing one. I'm naturally quite a pink person anyway so i feel i have it naturally there. But my Sleek blushes especially are amazing, some of the best i own, i'm putting this one in my everyday bag as i write this.

I'd love to know what products have you loved and forgotten?

The £5 foundation // Makeup Revolution // Fast Base

Hello darlings.

Makeup Revolution have done it again, they have brought out another 'break the internet' product and i'm so happy to have finally got my hands on it. I know they launched Fast Base Stick Foundation online about a month ago but i wanted to swatch the shades in store before i purchased one, so i waited till they were stocked in Superdrug. I'm not gonna lie ive not tried a stick foundation before, so i don't have any to compare it to. I have dry skin so i wasn't sure how this was gonna sit on my skin, but for £5 i thought why not give it a chance! I have it in the shade F1 which is the lightest, so here are my thoughts!

What it claims:
Foundation just got faster! Launching in 18 shades and a range of undertones, Fast Base Foundation quickly perfects, contours and highlights your complexion. The easy-to-apply stick formula melts into skin, blending seamlessly to leave a fresh and dewy finish. Twist up, swipe on and blend out with fingers, a beauty sponge or your favourite foundation brush.
Packaging: Its a simple pale nude tube, when you take the lid off the tube underneath is gold which is very pretty. You get 6g of product which i think is a good amount for £5, but as i mentioned i don't own any other stick foundation to compare it to. But googling it the Anastasia Beverly Hill Stick Foundation has 9.1g for £25 so 6g for £5 is really good.

Shades: So far there are 18 shades, which is pretty impressive, i have F1. I know they've launched more shades for the concealer so i wouldn't be surprised if they launch more for the foundation sticks. In the description on their website it describes each shade to you so its really easy to find a shade that matches you, really useful!
F1 – For fair skin tones with neutral undertone
F2 – For fair skin tones with yellow undertone
F3 – For fair skin tones with pink undertone
F4 – For light skin tones with neutral undertone
F5 – For light skin tones with pink undertone
F6 – For light/medium skin tones with yellow undertone
F7 – For medium skin tones with peach undertone
F8 – For medium skin tones with yellow undertone
F9 – For medium skin tones with a peach undertone
F10- For medium skin tones with a golden undertone
F11 – For medium/dark skin tones with a beige undertone
F12 – For medium/dark skin tones with a neutral undertone
F13 – For dark skin tones with a warm undertone
F14 – for dark skin tones with a cool undertone
F15 – for dark skin tones with a neutral undertone
F16 – for dark skin tones with a warm undertone
F17 – for dark skin tones with a neutral undertone
F18 – for dark skin tones with a warm undertone
Applying it: I apply a small amount at a time and then blend it. I like to do it in sections in case it dries and then i can't blend it. Doing it this way really worked and it blended really well.

Coverage: The coverage is light /medium to me, i do think its buildable. I think its a really good coverage for every day wear.  It feels really nice and light on the skin.

Finish: Its very much a satin/dewy finish, if you like a matte foundation this is not for you. This foundation has a very dewy finish, it is described as a satin, but on my skin its not. It makes my skin look very glowy. I do use powder on top just to set it as i do with all my foundations.
Longevity: It lasted on my skin without touching up for about 12 hours, so i'm pretty impressed.

Price: £5! how could you go wrong, its crazy cheap. You can buy it here

I'd love to know have you tried this foundation?

My Travel Essentials // Skincare, hair and baby // Who doesn't love miniatures?

Hello darlings.

Last week me, Will and Isaac went down to Torquay for a few days and i though i'd share with you what products i took with me. I'm not mentioning makeup in this post, that will be a separate one otherwise this would be the longest blog post!
Firstly i use the Superdrug B Range Micellar Water, i purchased this when i ran out of my Garnier Micellar Water a few months back, but sadly Garnier was full price but this Superdrug one was better than half price so i thought why not try this one instead. I have to say i really like it, its not 100 % the same but its pretty good, it takes off any my makeup without irritating my skin.Overall i like it nd will repurchase it. Then i use the Garnier Skin Active Face Wash in 'natural honey', this is just a nice simple face wash, i don't have a favourite face wash i just pick up whatever is on offer when i've run out. Next i use the Nip and Fab Exfoliating Pads to remove any left over makeup and exfoliate. I love these pads and i highly recommend them, my review coming soon! To treat my skin i put on a little of the Ole Hendrisk cleansing mask, i don't use this all the time to me its quite a luxury item to me and i only have a sample size. It smells gorgeous, like oranges! My moisturizer/serum that i'm currently using is the Nip and Fab Dragons Blood Serum, i have to admit i'm not loving this, but its expensive and i want to use it up. Let me know if you guys would like a review this? Lastly i apply a little pea sized amount of the Botanics Triple Age Renewal Eye Cream. I'm really enjoying this eye cream i've had it for a while now and reviewed it here. Its over a really nice moisturizing eye cream.
Hair:
I purchased these Tony & Guy hair products in a little set in the Christmas sales and i've been saving them for when i travel as i don't travel as often as i use to this is the first chance i've had to try them. The set includes shampoo, conditioner and hair protecting spray. Its a volumising set which is great for my flat hair! I also took a little body lotion with my, i choose the Palmer's Coconut Oil. This product smells amazing! I love Palmer's products, i used this lotion all though pregnancy too.
Baby:
Not forgetting Isaac, these were his miniatuers. When i was pregnant i received loads of sample from companies and mummy groups. I'm finally getting round to using them! I took with us the Aveeno bay wash and moisturizing, i love Aveeno products and i was really happy with these! I also took a mini Sudocream, i mean how cute?! If you're a mummy you know you always have to have Sudocream with you!

I'd love to know what are some of your travel essentials?

My top 5 // Max Factor

Hello darlings

Today post is the start of a new little series on Perfect Fixations, my top 5 products within a brand. I've done similar posts before but i focused on specific products e.g. my top 3 foundations etc... but this series will focus on a whole brand. I just thought it would be fun and give me a chance to tell you guys what i think of different brands, which ones i think do a good range of products which ones are limited etc, i hope you enjoy!

Today's top 5 are from Max Factor, this is a more high end range from the drugstore, that is sold in Boots and Superdrug. 'It was founded in 1909 as Max Factor & Company by Maksymilian Faktorowicz, a beautician from Poland.[1] In its early days, it specialized in movie make-up'. I have tried quite a few products from Max Factor over the years and a few of my staple items come from them so it seemed fitting that my first top 5 came from them. Although these are my top 5 i thought i'd do it counting down to my favourite product.
5. Smooth Miracle Primer (£10.99)
If i'm honest i'm rather lazy when it comes to primer, i find a moisturizer does the same job, but i keep buying them, how else does that? Its something new and shinny and although i might not use it i need it! Luckily with this primer i tried it and loved it! Its leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and a good even base to apply my foundation. Its great for my combination- dry skin.

This was one of the first grown up mascaras i purchased and it was my holy grail for years. I re-discovered it a couple of weeks back when i bought it on Amazon for about £3 and thought it was was too good of a price not to. And it lived up to expectations, its a nice simple wand which isn't too big or too thin. It gives lift and volume, it doesn't curl or or at least it doesn't on my very straight eyelashes. But for my everyday use it great!

I love this foundation, i've been using it for a good few months now. The colour isn't 100% perfect, its a tad too pink but after blending and bronzing its perfect. Its great cover, easy to blend, long lasting. One pump does my whole face. Its a handy product as its 3 in 1, it does the job of a primer, foundation and concealer. I do however still have to add a little more concealer on top as its not full coverage for my dark circles, but then again not everyone has a 1 year old who still doesn't sleep through the night!

I've had this lipstick for a long time, longer than i will admit and i should probably have thrown it out by now but shh its a secret between me and you. This is one of the elixir collection, i have the shade Rosewood which is a beautiful mauve-nude, prefect for the colder months. It not matte, its very creamy and moisturizing. Its designed to moisturize your lips, so perfect fro eye day wear. But i find it just as long lasting as a matte lipstick, so you get moisturizes lips and longevity, whats not to love.

1. Brow Sharper in Brown (£7.99)
Out of all the product here this is number one, i LOVE this brow pencil. My favouite use to be the Seventeen Brown Pencil which i still love but now i've tried this Max Factor one nothing compares. Its a very fine pencil which means i get a precise brow, i can create a good shape. Its not too waxy or pigmented so i can't go over board. Long lasting, smudge prove, its exactly what i'm looking for. Great comb on the end too!

I'd like to know have you tried any Max Factor products? If so whats your favourite? Or what should i try next?

Simple back to school makeup // Budget friendly

Hello darling!

Its that time of year, everyone is going back to school or college/university. I'm now 22 and not in any form of education (i graduated last year, post) but this is a little tradition on my blog and although this is the first year i'm not going back to school i'd still like to do a little makeup post! So bare with me. This year is also a little different i decided to film it! Check out the bottom of the post for the video!
I always think a simple makeup look is good for school, something that is quick and easy in the morning (we want our sleep!!) And also something that looks pretty and natural. Products that colour correct, cover up create a little glow and add a little colour! All these products are budget friendly and can be found at the drugstore or online as many pupils/students can't afford high end makeup. Products used:

Base:

Eye Brows:

Eyes:

Lips:

In the video i added a little more of a pink lipstick which was 'pink in the afternoon by Revlon and i added a little white eyeliner by MUA to brighten my eyes. I hope you enjoyed it!

I'd love to know have you tried any of these products?
