The Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette: REVIEW AND SWATCHES

Hello darlings

Sorry i haven't posted in a few days, i've been in hospital but me and the baby are fine, we are home now and i'm full of motivation!

A couple weeks ago it was my 22nd birthday and my gorgeous boyfriend Will bought me this Kat Von D Eye Shadow Palette. I was so happy to get it but it was a bit of an out of the blue present as i hadn't mentioned or dropped any hints about what i wanted for my birthday. I had wanted to try Kat Von D makeup for ages but i'd enver brought it up or if i had i didn't think he would have a clue what i was talking about. I think i got this palette because Will fancy's Kat Von D a little (how could you not shes gorgeous!) and he had heard she had a makeup line and as i'm obsessed with makeup he thought i'd like one! Haha. bless him. But nonetheless i'm so pleased he got it for me.
Packaging: Its quite heavy, it was the first thing i noticed when i unwrapped it, which automatically made me think quality. Its a gorgeous black palette, my favourite colour, it stand outs and doesn't look like anything i own. Theres a mirror in the lid which is always good for travelling.
Cruelty Free: The first thing i remembered about Kat Von D makeup is that its cruelty free! Which is brilliant and i'm so happy that a brilliant palette like this can be achieved without testing on animals, it shows it can done so other brands should take note! Although i am aware that there are many brand out there which are anti-animal testing.
Shadows: It says 12 matte eye shadows but i'd say there was 10 as two do have a little shimmer. Which are great for brow bone. The shades are split into 3 quads, L to R, neutral, cool, warm. Each quad contains a base, a contour, a define and highlighter shade. But you can mix and match the quads to create your own looks. It has every shade you could want, every variation of brown and it matches all skin tones. You could use them for your eyebrows too and it would suit more than one shade of brows. The larger shades wont hit pan easily they are a really good size, this palette will last a long time. You can create natural or smokey or really dramatic eyes.
Shadows Cont: The shades are pigmented, they are very creamy when you put your brush into them, Which makes them easy to apply and blend. The only shade that disappointed me what Shax the black shade, i feel i have much more pigmented black shades for a fraction of the price in other palettes. But i do rarely wear black eye shadows i tend to use a felt eyeliner so to me its not an issue.

Overall i think this is a great for a beginners palette and also for makeup lovers, especially if you are a lover of matte eye shadows.
You can purchase it here for £36

I'd love to know have you tried this palette?
