My day with Marilyn Monroe.

Hello darlings

Today post is all about my trip to London to see the Marilyn Monroe exhibition last Wednesday (15th). Back in 2012 i went my first Marilyn Monroe exhibition, which was in the American Museum in Bath, where i live. Before then i'd been in ore of Marilyn since i was about 10 years old. When i heard that David Gainsburg-Roberts collection was being auctioned off later in the year i knew this would be my last chance to see Marilyn belongs before hey are scatted across the world. The exhibition was in the Design Center in Chelsea Harbour in London, i went up on my own last minute decision as the exhibition is only in England in till 20th June so i had to go straight away!
1959 Austin Healey, 'Frogeye' Sprite (used as a prop).

One thing that always gets me when i see Marilyn's clothes were just how small she was, i'm not meaning height i mean her figure. History has portrayed her to be a larger actress of the time, the media said she was a size 16 but that is not true, i'm a size 10 and i wouldn't get into her garments, she was a 35-22-35. There was lots a movie footage showing Marilyn in each item, setting the scene and giving the publci a glimpse of the goddess. I took many pictures, so here they are!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience even if the journey up to London as interesting, many different trains and losing directions! I would highly recommend going, although it does end tomorrow, but it goes on tour so if its coming to your country i would go see it, and its free.

I'd love to know have you every been to a exhibition that has stuck in your mind?
Have you been to this exhibition.

Current Style Icons 2015 | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

Today's post is a fashion one. Last year i did my current style inspiration for 2014 (you check it out here) I had so much fun making it i thought i'd make another one!
So i hope you enjoy :)

Kim Kardashian

My first person is no secret to you all, Kim Kardashian. I love here style, especially the clothes she has worn in the past year or two. Before that, not so much, But now i find her style so chic and sophisticated, she has a true influence over the fashion industry,

Keira Knightly
Source
Next up is Keira Knightly, Keira's style has been one i have loved for years, not only her costumes in her famous fabulous period dramas but her own unique personal style. Its so personal ans so her, i just love it.

Victoria Beckham.

Victoria Beckham, Victoria style is again legendary. Admittedly over the years shes had a couple of to say nicely interesting outfits, late 1990s/2000s *cough cough* i'm looking at you. But now she is sophisticated and her clothes gorgeous. Plus i just love her collections!

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe was included in my last style inspiration post, she has been and always will be one of my style icons as well as my favourite actress. The thing with Marilyn's look is that it wasn't as revealing as people think, yes many of her outfits were tight fitting and often sewn on her but it worked and enhanced what she had. Most of the time she was dressed very simple, sophisticated and classy, i just love her look.

Zoella
Source
Zoe Sugg, I'll start off by saying i wish i had her wardrobe! She has great taste in fashion. She wears so many chic and wearable styles and i have may i copied a few of them...

Elizabeth Taylor
Source
Lastly another classic and another Queen. A lady who needs no introduction, Elizabeth Taylor. Not only are her violet eyes and jewels that she is famous for but her clothes. I loved her sense in fashion and the influence she held.

There is a theme here, i do like my black, whites and neutral colours and i think my style icons reflect that.
I'd love to know who is your current style inspiration/icon? Do you like any of the ones i have included? Let me know down in the comments!

Shades of cool

My baby lives in shades of blue.
Blue eyes and jazz and attitude.
He lives in California too.
He drives a Chevy Malibu.

Hello darlings.

Today has been spent relaxing in the garden with a nice cool larger, reading my new Marilyn Monroe book and enjoying Lana Del Rey's new album 'Ultraviolence ^-^

I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful weather we're having in England!

And when he calls.
He calls for me and not for you.
He lives for love, he loves his drugs.
He loves his baby too.
