Song of the Day #19/Girlie Day

Hello darlings

Today's post in 2 mixed into one. Yesterday i had a lovely day out with some friends. We went to lunch, hanged out in a garden center, messing around as usual! Then we went back to mine, tested out Claire's new selfie stick, listened to Disney songs, painted our nails and booked a spontaneous overnight trip to London next week! Which is exciting!
This weeks song of the week is Beyonce's new song she realised yesterday, called 7/11. I love the video, shes such beautiful and just completely awesome! And the lyrics are so catchy! I'll link it at the bottom of the post. :)

Have you heard this song yet? What is your opinion of it?

Max Factor's 'Gel Shine Lacquer' Nail Polish.

Hello darlings

Today i have for you quick post on a new nail polish i recently bought.
The one i picked up was Max Factor's 'Gel Shine Lacquer' I've never been a fan of gel nail polish but these looked really good so i thought i'd give them a go.

I got it in the shade 'Sheen Merlot' which is this beautiful burgundy red colour, perfect for autumn/ winter.  It only needs one coat, i put on two just out of habit. The product gives a lovely finish but not quite the gel effect i thought i was going to get but none the less its a beautiful nail polish. The brush was perfect size and made it easy to apply. Max Factor have produced a beautiful colour selection, i think there is a colour that would suit everyone.

The only problem was it chipped after two days. It kinda sucked but next time i will put on a top coat.  The price is a little higher than i normally go for they are £6.99 each but were on sale for £4.99. (which i think has now ended)
Available from here

Have you tried any Max Factor 'Gel Sine Lacquers'? What did you think?

September Favourites 2014

Hello darlings.

How can it already be October? I've said it before where has this year gone?
It is that time of the month again, my September favourites. I always love doing these types of posts as i love looking back at all the different products i've loved over the months.

I'll start off with skincare:
First product is a rediscovery, its the Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturiser. I use to worship this moisturiser its great for helping get rid of blemishes and preventing them from returning. This past month i've had a few bad break outs from stress and trying new products, and this has helped me so much.
Next is Superdrug's Own Brand Exfoliating Face Mask, in Superberry. This product i used quite a few time this month and LOVED, but the last time i used it i had a bad skin reaction which lasted a couple of days. Luckily my Revlon colour stay helped conceal it. The reason i have still included it in my September favourites is that it was one of my favourites and i really love it and am unsure why after several weeks my skin had a reaction.
Last skin product is Dove's Fine Silk Hand Wash. I love this so much, it has a wonderful smell and it is really moisturising on the skin.

Next up fragrance:
I have been loving The Body Shops, Vanilla Body Mist. This has the most wonderful sweet smell that i love wearing with any perfume. It just give that little bit extra and you only need the smallest amount!

Now for the important part, makeup!

This month my choices are products i have mentioned in other favourites post, but that is because i do genuinely love them and will continue to do so.
First up is Revlon Colour Stay Foundation. This is my favourite foundation at the moment, it provides that perfect amount of coverage and it is my perfect shade match, which is 'Buff'. It has the perfect paleness but still has those yellow undertones that many pale foundation shades lack and instead usually are too pink. (you can read my review here)
Next up, a familiar favourite is the Naked Basics Palette. This is the perfect everyday palette with the perfect range of nudes/ neutrals. I can't wait to get the Basics 2!
A new favourite this month is blush. I am not a person who usually wears it because i am naturally very pink anyway and it just looks too much. But MUA's Blush in 'Cupcake' is perfect, its a soft very pale pink that is perfect for adding just a little colour to my cheeks without looking too much.
To apply this blush i have been using Barry M Blush Brush which is an amazing blush bush that is the perfect size to apply the product without it looking too cakey.

I hope you enjoyed this post and would love to know what products you've been loving this month

MUA Undress Me Too Review.

Hello darlings

Today i am reviewing the MUA Undress Me Too palette.
This is the palette that most call the 'dupe' for Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette.
My main reason for buying this is i am undecided on whether to buy the Naked 2 so i through first i'd give this a whirl.

As always i'll start with the packaging i like the fact that its white so its stands out from the other palettes by MUA but other than that i'm not a big fan of it.

The palette contains a great range of colours. The shades that are mattes are not the most pigmented and also have a slight simmer to them when on the skin, apart from 'Lavish' a dark brown. So not as matte as i'd like, but the metallic are so beautiful and amazing quality. Some of the shades are more pigmented than others, but are build-able. I found them easy to apply and to blend. There is a fair mix of shades, which you can create lots of looks. When testing them out i found they last a long time, i didn't have to retouch. I had a long shift at work and came home and it was still there and that was with no primer! So that really impressed me.

Shades: top row from L to R: 'Naked', 'Devotion', 'Shy', 'Flery', 'Lavish', 'Dreamy'.
Bottom row L to R: 'Tranquil', 'Exposed', 'Reveal', 'Wink', 'Obsessed', 'Corrupt'.

It’s a good palette at a good price only £4 so good if you are on a budget.
I do feel the colours are very similar to the Heaven and Earth palette from MUA just less gold shades.
I'm undecided on whether or not to buy Naked 2.....

I hope you enjoyed reading this :)
Have you tried this palette? What did you think of it?

Back To School Makeup 2014

Hello darlings

Today i have for you a back to school/beginners makeup post.
When you are going to school the best look to go for is the natural but flattering look as many pupils aren't allowed to wear makeup in school. Also, if were like me, don’t have much time in the morning and prefer to sleep in that extra few minutes! So the two key things is natural and quick so here are my suggestions for a couple of products that could help you and you might like.

Lets begin with face!

For school I wouldn’t bronze or contour as i think it takes time and you want to look the most natural you can. I've chosen Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, i think this is the perfect foundation for school, as it natural, light on the skin and an affordable price at only £6.99. Next is Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer, perfect for covering those dark circles and spots, perfect for teenagers! Lastly i would use Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, it does a wonderful job of keeping you matte and lasts all day. Good for those long school days.

Next up eyes:

I don't feel you need much for you eyes, i wouldn't go over the top with thick eyeliner or big fake eyelashes. I think a natural shade of eyeshadow and a little mascara is all you need. For this i have chosen Collection's Nude Palette, it has nice white, pink and brown shades, which can create loads of different looks. Mascara i have chosen Rimmel Lash Accelerator, this is a great mascara that adds length and definition without clumps. To end it i would line my waterline with a white eyeliner pencil just to open and brighten the eyes. For this i have chosen a MUA white eyeliner pencil which is only £1.

Lastly lips.

I think a subtle nude lipstick or gloss is perfect for school, the 'my lips but better look'. For this i have chosen MUA lipstick in shade 14 and a MUA lip gloss in shade 3. Both are these are great products and are only £1 each.

I hope you enjoyed this and that it was helpful and good luck with your first day back at school!

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer Review

Hello darlings

Today i will be doing another quick fire review!
I bought this product while in London a couple weeks back, after reading about it on Zoella's blog, her description of it sounds so good i knew i'd have to try it. So i've now had enough time to do a full test on this product and bring you my thoughts on it.

I'll start with the cons of this which are very little. I found the packaging a little cheap looking, i'm not a fan of the plastic. But inside its super cute with a mirror and the actual powder looks kinda like the inside of a beehive. I bought this on holiday with me and Its compact, really good for travelling and fitted in my makeup bag perfectly.

One of the joys of this bronzer is that it is brilliant for paler skins.
They offer a good shade range but i would suggest testing them in store before buying as I’m very pale but I went for shade 2 as shade 1 was too light, which was a first for me!
The colour pay off is great its not too orange. Its matte with no shimmer or glitter, which is exactly what i'm looking for in a bronzer.
It goes on the skin smoothly and gives a beautiful look and doesn't look to cakey.

Over all i would recommend this product. :)
Its £13, which could be seen a s a little pricey, but i think its worth the money.
You can buy it here: Link

Hope you enjoyed this review.
Have you tried The Body Shop Honey Bronzer? If so what are your thoughts on it?

£20 Makeup Challenge

Hello darlings

I love watching YouTubers do the £20/$20 makeup challenge and I love watching to see what products they use and if I can find any bargains! So I thought I would hunt through my makeup an try and see if I could get a full face of makeup in under £20…

£20 makeup challenge:
First I started with the MUA Undress me foundation (£5) I really like this foundation as its perfect match for my skin tone and its very light on the skin, perfect for summer.
Next I used the Natural Collection powder (£1.98) to set my foundation, this use to be my favourite powder for a long time but it doesn’t keep me matte all day like other powders i have used since used. But for the money its pretty good and good for people who don’t have oily skin.
MUA concealer (£1) I really love this concealer, its not a great as my Collection Lasting Perfection, but I think it has really good coverage and lasts a long time.
MUA blush (£1) I’m not a big blush person as you know, but I do really like the MUA blushes and think they are such great value for money so I thought I would use one instead of a bronzer. Also because I couldn’t fit a bronzer in my budget.... :(
Gotta fill in my eyebrows! and my product of choice for this challenge is the Rimmel eyebrow pencil (£2.99) I really like this product as its perfectly matches my brows and isn’t too waxy and can look really natural.
I love MUA single eyeshadows (£1) I think they are super great quality and are much more pigmented than you would think for the price.
This is one of my mascaras of choice at the moment Mascara Showtime by NYC (£1.99) The brush on this mascara is prefect size for my short eyelashes and its a great formula and great value, I really recommend it.
Collection eyeliner (£2.99) This isn’t the greatest eyeliner as I find its smudges easily and when my eyes water its ruins.
Finally my lipstick I have chosen Natural collection lipstick (£1.98) I really like these lipsticks, I find them really creamy and have a good colour range. The only thing is they rattle in the tube and snap really easily.

 Pretty good! Haha.  £19.93

I challenge you to to a full face of makeup in £20 or under!

Revlon Lip Butter Review

Hello darlings

Today i have another quick fire review. I recently purchased a couple of the Revlon Lip Butters, i've heard so many people raving about them for ages so i knew i needed to try them.

The two i bought were 'Sweet Tart' and 'Candy Apple'. I specifically bought bright coloured ones as i'd read reviews that the paler colours weren't very pigmented or noticeable on the lips.

The first is 'Strawberry Tart'
The packaging

The second is 'Candy Apple'

My verdict:
I found these lip butters to be very moisturising and smooth on my lips. Although it can look a little bitty on dry lips. It lasted a long time, even when i ate you could still see the colour remaining. They are silky smooth and easy to apply and to keep re-applying throughout the day. I love all the cute names, i now have the biggest urge to collect them all! The colours available that Revlon have produced are a good and wide selection. Many are super bright and others are the 'my lips but better' so i feel there is one for everyone. I also think with school starting soon you could wear these as the lighter colours are very subtle. So far i would have to say the 'Sweet Tart' is my favourite of the two. I'm really loving pink lip products this year which is strange considering i don't like the colour pink very much.
The only thing i didn't like was the packaging, the tube is cute but I feel the plastic lid looks a little cheap for Revlon.

Over all i highly recommend them and can't wait to buy more!

Have you tried Revlon Lip Butters? If so which is your favourite?

Whats in my bag: Summer 2014

Hello darlings.

Today i thought i would do the 'what is in my bag' tag.
Not the most exciting contents but i love reading these type of posts and i'm just really nosy!
So i thought i'd give it a go!

My bag is from Primark ^-^ It was only £10 and is the perfect size!

I should mention i haven't included my phone, as i took the picture with it, and also my inhaler, as it was on the side of the room and i forgot about it, oops.

So lets begin:
My glasses: I always carry them on me as i am practically blind, but i don't like wearing them but i know one day i may have to wear them full time.
Headphones: I ALWAYS carry music with me especially when it comes to walking to work or back from Uni, it is a must have! And yes sometimes i am that annoying person singing to myself walking past you. Nope, i'm not sorry :P
Aspirins: I always carry a supply of aspirins as i am prone to stress headaches.
Dry Shampoo: A must have!
Purse: Gotta have somewhere to keep my money and hundreds of store cards.... I am currently looking for a new purse, one that is a lot bigger and has more storage for cards. If anyone knows any good shops that sell large, but still cute, purses comment down below ^-^ Thank you darlings.
Book: I always carry a book on me, i like having something to read and as a history geek its usually a History book or about an old Hollywood star.
Deodorant: Another must have, especially in the summer.
Sunglasses: It is currently summer so i always carry a pair of sunnies in my bag, these ones are ones i got from Primark for only £1 and they are supper cute.
Keys: Always carry my keys, nothing much interesting there...
Camera: I'm always taking pictures so my camera is always in my bag as i never know when i might find something amazing to photograph.
Tissues: Always carry tissues, especially when i have hay fever and also if i ever use a public toilet, yeah enough said....
Lip balm: Its always in my bag!
Mirror: I carry two mirrors, yes two, i need two. One for my makeup bag and one just in the pocket in case i don't take my makeup bag with me, which is rare but it does happen.
Hair brush: Another standard must have.
Water: Especially a must in the summer and also then i don't have to keep buying drinks while i'm out. But to be honest it never works as i'm always in Costa.... Hmmm, there is a flaw in my plan. Oh well its there for emergencies!
Dried fruit: I always carry dried apricots in my bag as you never know when you might get hungry. Especially when i'm in a lecture or get hungry at work.
Makeup bag: This is the main reason my bag is so heavy! That and my books. I always carry my makeup bag on me, you never know when you are gonna need a touch up or if you're staying overnight somewhere.

Reading it like this it looks like a lot, but it is all needed!
I hope you enjoyed reading this.
