Essie's Not Just A Pretty Face

Hello darlings.

Today post is just a quick one about a nail polish i've been enjoying recently. I'm not sure if i've already talked about this Essie polish on my blog before. Its called 'Not just a pretty face'. Its a beautiful nude pink, perfect colour for a natural nails. This colour is good if your in a rush, if you make a mistake its harder to notice. Also if it chips then its less noticeable. As the mum to a newborn with little time on my hands this is exactly the kind of polish i need.
You can buy it here for £7.99.

I'd love to know what is your go to nail polish?

Lip of the week #33 Kate Moss nude collection

Hello darlings.

Today's post is a super quick 'lip of the week' before i go on holiday. For those of you who are new readers (HI!) this is a series where i tell you what lipstick i've been loving this week.

I'm off to Devon tomorrow so i want to give you guys a little post before i go as i'm off for a week. Today's lip prouct is Rimmel Kate's' nude lipstick in shade 45, i know this was a popular lipstick a few years ago and that i'm late to jump on the band wagon! But now i have finally purchased it here are my thoughts and why its my favourite for this week, i hope you enjoy.
Packaging:
Its a pretty pink tube, the classic Rimmel shape but just pink so you can tell it is part of Kate Moss's collection. I really like it, its different from many other lipsticks i have and stands out in my collection. You get 4g of product which is pretty standard.

Colour:
I choose the shade is '45' which is a pinky nude. It wasn't the lightest or the darkest shade in the collection but i thought it would suit me the most and it does. Its a nice pinky 'my lips but better', not a true nude for me but i like that as i didn't want the 'concealer' lips look. So this works perfectly for me for everyday.

Applying:
Its glides on the lips easily, very smooth and pigmented. No lip liner is needed.
Finish:
Its not a matte finish its a very shinny moisturizing lipstick. I'm defenfity more of a matte girl but its good to have other options. Not a glossy finish like lip glosses as thats what i don't like. I have long hair you get the idea....

Long lasting?
This lipstick is not the most long lasting on my lips, i do have to reapply throughout the day or after eating. But i think thats down to the finish, a matte lipstick would last longer.

I'd love to know have you tried this lipstick?
Or any of the Kate Moss collection?

A nude for the Winter // lip of the week #32

Hello darlings

Do you have that one lipstick that goes with every look, every outfit, every season? For me its my Calvin Klein Nude Lipstick, in 'Undressed'. I remember i purchased this from Fragrance Direct at the beginning of Summer. It cost £3.95, sadly no longer on their website. But if you type it in to Google you can find other places to purchase it. But it has become a stable in my makeup bag and i thought i'd share it with you and i'd love to know some of your stable lipsticks?
The packaging on the Calvin Klein lipsticks are beautiful, although as the bottom half of the lipstick is a soft material it does tend to get grubby quickly as you can see in the picture. But its well made, sturdy, i've doped it a couple times and it survived. This is a gorgeous brownish mauve nude. Its a very subtle colour, very similar to my lips, but just adds a little colour, makes them a little deeper. Its perfect for this time of year. Its very pigmented as you can see from the swatch on the back of my hand. Its glides on to you lips with little effort. Very creamy and smooth, not scratchy or drags at all. Its not a matte its more of a satin finish. Which is perfect for me, it doesn't dry my lips in the slightest. Its long lasting an fades beautifully without living weird patches or the line around your lips.
I'd love to know have you tried any of the Calvin Klein lipsticks?

You can never go wrong with a nude // Sally Hansen nail polish for only 99p!

 Hello darlings.

I haven't review a nail polish for a long time, i just don't seem to have the time or motivation to sit down and paint my nails, which is a shame as i use to always have my nails painted! The beginning of the week i had a little time to myself, my mother-in-law to be had Isaac so i decided why not paint my nails. I chose this Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polish in Cafe Au Lait, which i bought for a bargain price of 99p from Fragrance Direct (Haul coming soon!!)
I have never tried a Sally Hansen nail polish before but i always wanted to but i didn't know if they were worth the price. In Boots and Superdrug they tend to be around the £7/8 mark and i've always been happy with Barry M nail polishes and never saw the need to spent much more on other ones. I was so happy when i saw Fragrance Direct had this colour as normally on these outlet websites the colours are the real bright ones and the colours that don't sell that well. But this is the perfect natural nude colour. my nails but better! I was amazed it was on their for only 99p so i quickly added it to my basket!
It was opaque with two coats which is standard for nail polish. It built up well, it didn't go thick and gloppy. I used a base coat but not a top coat to i could see how long it lasted without chipping, next time i will try a top coat too. The polish lasted for about 4 days without chipping, which was brilliant! Bearing in mind i do washing up, other house work, looking after a baby, my hands do take a beating daily! After 4 days it was only little chips but by the end of the week i had to take it off. Overall i'm really pleased.

I'd love to know have you tried this nail polish?
Or any other Sally Hansen nail polishes?

Nails Of The Day: BarryM Nude

Hello darlings.

I'm sorry i'm not posting at the moment, its due to my uni workload. My dissertation is due in three weeks time so the clock is ticking! But as i'm sat here on a little study break i though i'd share with you my nails! I just painted them this morning and i'm really happy with how they turned out :)
This is BarryM 'nude' it took two coats to get it almost opaque. Its a very natural nail polish that is quick and easy. One good thing about it is if you go out the lines its not too noticeable and if it chips it isn't noticeable! Which is great. BarryM nail polish's are one of my favourite brands for nail polishes, they have a gorgeous shade range and they are so long lasting and affordable! A perfect mix. I've yet to be disappointed with Barry M polishes.

I'd love to know have you tried this nail polish?

Lip Of The Week #9: Revlon Balm Stain | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

Miss me?
I'm finally back from Scotland with a new lip of the week. I'm so happy with this series, i can't believe i've stuck to it, i usually get bored too easily and move on to the next thing but i'm really enjoying it, i hope you are too!

While on holiday i took a couple of options with me (check out my travel makeup here) and this one was a last minute grab before i ran out the front door. Its the Revlon Balm Stain in 'Honey'. I am so in love with this lip stain, its so quick and easy to put on in a hurry and goes with so many makeup looks. Its long lasting and subtle. I've recently been loving nudes/pinks and this is (as i say way too often....) a wearable everyday pink. But i think thats the best kind, as it means i get use out of it. Its a staple in a makeup bag!

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Revlon Lip Stains?
Which one is your favourite?

Lip Of The Week #3: Bourjois Lip Velvet | Perfect Fixations

 Hello darlings.

I'm sorry there wasn't a lip of the week last week but i'd pretty much been wearing the same Revlon Suede lipstick as i had the week before, which you can check out here. I've been super busy recently, (so much Uni work, ahhh!) so i haven't been experimenting with new lip products this week. But i did pick this one up at the weekend as i really love it. Its the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 07 Nude-ist. Its not as nude and subtle as i thought it would have been by looking at it in the tube, its a really deep colour  berry tone that i love. It goes on creamy but drys matte and really stains you lips so its super long lasting!

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Bourjois Lip Velvets?
What lip products have you been loving lately?
