L'Oreal glam shine stains // Bargain time

Hello Darlings

Today post is my bargain of the week! I popped into my local pound shop, after my last visit i got some real bargains (post) i thought i'd see what was in there this week and to happiness there were loads of these L'Oreal Glam Shine Stains! I remember a few years ago when they were a blogger favourite so i decided to pick two up.
I picked up two shades Lolita (pink) and Juliet (red). There was the shade Marilyn which i had see many bloggers rave about but in person is was too Barbie pink for me and i knew i wouldn't get much wear out of it. When i got them home it took me a second how to open them, you unscrew them from the bottom but apart from that the packaging is gorgeous! Its a lovely rose gold colour, packing is a big thing for me when buying products.
I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of lip gloss i'm definitely a matte lip kind of gal but i decided to give it ago. To my pleasant surprise the product isn't sticky like i was expected, its thick and creamy. I love the applicator it applies the product evenly, not hugely pigmented but neither most lip glosses. i think i'm just so use to liquid lipsticks (aren't we all!) But at the same time its not the worst pigment, the more you layer it the more colour you get. Its surprisingly long lasting! And does leave a little colour to the lips once it has faded.
The only thing i don't like is the smell but i can't tell if thats me being fussy or if the products were sitting in a wherehouse for a long time and are just old. I think my favourite is Lolita as its a very good everyday nudey pink shade. But i do think that the shade Juliet is a great one for people who aren't brave enough to wear a red lipstick.

I'd love to know have you tried any of this Glam Shines?
Or have you found any bargains lately?

Lip of the week #21: Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker

Hello darlings.

As i write this i am very sick in bed with a cup of tea, but i suddenly have the inspiration to write this blog post that i've been meaning to put up for a couple for days now. I have been quite bad at keeping up with blogging lately, my dissertation (as well as other assignments) are due in 8 weeks time, so you can imagine my stress levels! But i'm going to try and keep up blogging as my little escape and pleasure place over the next couple of months. This weeks lip of the week is this Soap and Glory Lip gloss in 'Rose and Shine' i got in my gift set i got for Christmas.
I'm not usually a big fan of lip gloss, with the weather in England and having long hair, the two don't mix well! I received this little product in a gift set at Christmas and i thought why not give it a try and i'm pleasantly surprised. Its not too sticky which is great. The products applies lovely, i like the applicator, its soft and the perfect size. There is only a small colour pay off, so its good on its on or over the top of a lipstick or stain, just to add a little gloss and dimension.  The smell is gorgeous, i could smell it all day!

As for the plumping part, there is a tingling sensation, which at first i didn't like but i got use to it. I don't think it plumps my lips a huge amount tho which was a shame, but nonetheless i really like this gloss.

I'd love to know have you tried this lip gloss?

Lip of the week #18 MAC's Brave

Hello darlings.

Today's post is my first lip of the week of 2016, i bought this little beauty in duty free in Edinburgh on my way home from a couple of days there before Christmas. I had been wanting MAC's Brave for the longest time (My Beauty wishlist) but i always find that £15.50 for a lipstick is a little pricey, while in duty free i noticed they were £13, i didn't think i'd get a better price than that so i bit the bullet and bought the lipstick i'd wanted i am so glad i did!
In the light
Packaging: As usual i'll start off with the packaging, its the iconic bullet which i really like, its sleek and it looks really good on my vanity. Its smaller than i had imaged but it does mean its more travel friendly.

The finish: Brave is a stain finish, i knew that i didn't want a glossy or cream finish and i was worried a matte might be too drying so i thought a stain would be perfect and it is. Its creamy on the lips but not shiny or drying! But i would recommend you put a little lip balm on if you have dry patches as although its creamy it will still cling to them. I don't find you don't need a lip liner with this lipstick its a pretty good stand alone.

The colour and colour payoff: Brave is a gorgeous colour, an everyday wearable natural shade but not a dead lips nude its more deep, its definitely a my lips but better lipstick. Its a pinky-mauve shade. Its very pigmented, it doesn't take too much to build it up to a strong colour, but as its a nude you don't really need to. Its easy to apply and great for on the go. I found it goes well with my skin tone, i'm quite pale and it works perfectly but i do recommend you test them in store before you purchase.

Verdict:
Overall i LOVE this lipstick and i am so happy that i got it. Its my new everyday lipstick that will live in my handbag from now on! The colour, the payoff and the texture are amazing and i look forward to trying more lipsticks from MAC.  I'd love to try Captive, Faux and Mehr especially.

You can buy it here

I'd love to know have you tried this lipstick?
What is your favourite MAC lipstick?
Can you recommend any good ones for me to try?

Lip Of The Week #14 Revlon Matte Balm I Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings.

I'm so happy to be starting up my lip of the week again and i'm starting it off with a classic red. :)

I have made it no secret that Revlon Lip products are my favoruite, the choices, the colour range is amazing and not to mention the quality. I especially love the Revlon Matte Balms, i have gathered quite a collection, as you would have seen as i have mentioned them in my lip of the week before. They are creamy, pigmented and long lasting, what more do you want? This one is in the shade 'Striking' which is a classic red that goes with everything and anything.

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Revlon Matte Balms? What do you think of this shade?

Sleek Matte Cream Review | Perfect Fixations

Hello Darlings.

Today post isn't my usual lip of the week, instead its little review of a lip product i bought a month of so ago and i thought i'd share my thoughts with you.
I hope you enjoy :)

As always i'll start with the packaging, i do like it, its cute and, well, sleek as the name suggests. But thats where my love for this product sadly ends, it is matte, very matte and long lasting which is great, but its extremely drying, even if you have moisturised lips. I don't like the applicator its not tapered enough for me and doesn't have enough precision so its not the easiest to apply. The smell, for those who have been following me for a while know the way a cosmetic item smells is important to me, and lets just say its not a pleasant smell, i can't quite describe it, but i don't like it. There isn't the greatest shade range, i think there is 5 shades available, although there isn't the greatest shade selection this one i have 'Petal' is a beautiful colour and the colours available are nice i would just like some more options.

I feel like i'm being quite harsh but i was really looking forward to trying one of these matte creams as matte lipsticks are some of my favourites, so i am a little diappointed. I think its good if you have perfect lips with no dryness and aren't planning to wear it all day everyday as it does dry out your lips.
You can purchase them here

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Sleek Lip Creams?

Lip Of The Week #10: Maybelline Lip Crayon | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

Today post, as you can guess by the title is my lip of the week! This week i've gone back to a product i review a while ago, Maybelline Colour Drama Pencils (Review here) This one is in 'Minimalist', which is a pretty pale pink, almost a nude. There is definitely a theme with my lip of the weeks recently as they are all nudes and pale pinks, i think its because i'm so busy at the moment and they are just simple and easy to wear. But i will try to be more adventurous and try bolder ones over the next few weeks!
I don't know what that little pouts about.... ...hahaha

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Maybelline Colour Drama Pencils?
What are you thoughts?

Lip Of The Week #9: Revlon Balm Stain | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

Miss me?
I'm finally back from Scotland with a new lip of the week. I'm so happy with this series, i can't believe i've stuck to it, i usually get bored too easily and move on to the next thing but i'm really enjoying it, i hope you are too!

While on holiday i took a couple of options with me (check out my travel makeup here) and this one was a last minute grab before i ran out the front door. Its the Revlon Balm Stain in 'Honey'. I am so in love with this lip stain, its so quick and easy to put on in a hurry and goes with so many makeup looks. Its long lasting and subtle. I've recently been loving nudes/pinks and this is (as i say way too often....) a wearable everyday pink. But i think thats the best kind, as it means i get use out of it. Its a staple in a makeup bag!

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Revlon Lip Stains?
Which one is your favourite?

Lip Of The Week #3: Bourjois Lip Velvet | Perfect Fixations

 Hello darlings.

I'm sorry there wasn't a lip of the week last week but i'd pretty much been wearing the same Revlon Suede lipstick as i had the week before, which you can check out here. I've been super busy recently, (so much Uni work, ahhh!) so i haven't been experimenting with new lip products this week. But i did pick this one up at the weekend as i really love it. Its the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 07 Nude-ist. Its not as nude and subtle as i thought it would have been by looking at it in the tube, its a really deep colour  berry tone that i love. It goes on creamy but drys matte and really stains you lips so its super long lasting!

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Bourjois Lip Velvets?
What lip products have you been loving lately?
