My Current Obsession: Highlighting

Hello darlings.

I'm so sorry i haven't posted in a while, life has been pretty hectic recently. I've had so many Uni work submission dates, lots of extra hours at work (but yay more money!) plus i went on holiday with my family and boyfriend to Scotland last week which was lovely. Anyway back to today's post! I have to admit recently i've become a little obsessed with highlighters. They have completely changed my life and i can't go without applying a little glow to the tops of my checks! I have chosen my top four for today.s post, otherwise it would be a extremely long post and we'd been hear for hours. I hope you enjoy :)
This was the first highlighting product that i purchased and i have to admit it is my favourite that i own (Sshhh don't tell the others). The texture is buttery soft and incredibly smooth. It applies and blends like a dream. The product is well pigmented. There are three shades, the first one is subtle, the next one is quite glittery and the last one is very golden. My favoruite would be the first, to me its the most wearable, you can even get away with wearing it all over the face to give you a glow. The second i wear int he evening as more a statement abut unfortunately the golden one doesn't really suite my skin tone. The only down side for me is the packaging, although it is sleek and sexy it is quite large in size so not the best for travel. It is similar to their palettes so its hard to tell them apart.
At first i bought this for the contour side, i really wanted to get into 'sculpting' my face but it never really worked out for me and i've given up a little with the whole contouring thing. This isn't down to this product its due to my skills, of lack of! The contouring shade is nice, it isn't too orange and its easy to blend to give a natural look if applied lightly. But i found i fell in love with the highlighting side, so money not wasted! Its pigmented, its a gorgeous champagne shade that is the most beautiful. The product is really easy to blend, not as creamy as the previous product but still gorgeous all the same.
This is a new purchase for me, i only bought this product about a month ago and i'm really enjoying it. It is definitely a speedy product, as the name suggests, very good if you are in a rush! It literally only takes just one swipe on the tops of your cheeks and its done! The stick is a good size, its no to big which was one of the things i was a little worried about. This is the only cream highlighter i own, i don't know many companies that make a cream highlighters (apart from the new L'Oreal one) but this one has really impressed me. Again a champagne colour that is not too shimmery. It has nice packaging, its nothing fancy but it does the job.
Lastly I wont say too much about this blush as i wrote a whole review on it a few weeks back. (link) This is very glittery product and that is the main reason i don't use it as a blush that its intended for but makes a beautiful highlighter if you apply it subtlety. Its very pigmented in a glittery way more than a colour pay off. The product similar to the first makeup revolution product i mentioned has three colours a gold, peach, silvery colour. The silvery one is the part i use the most just to add a little something to the high points of my face.

I'd love to know have you caught the highlighting bug?
What are some of your favourite highlighters?

January Favourites 2016

Hello darlings.

Can you believe is already the end of January 2016? Before you know it will be 2017! Today's post is my January favourites. I only have couple of makeup products and two skin products this month as its been a pretty hectic month for me and i haven't used a lot of products. Nonetheless i hope you enjoy :)
The first makeup product is one that i have mentioned several times on my blog and in my monthly favourites. The Sleek Contour Kit in 'Light', i'm not big on contouring so i don't use the contour side of the kit very often, although it is lovely. The highlighter on the other hand is my favourite highlighter i own! Its a gorgeous subtle highlighter that gives a perfect highlight to the tops of your cheeks. It also is very buildable so you can get a strong highlight.

One of my latest purchases is my KIKO Blush in '112'. ( Sadly i couldn't find a link for it :( ) I know what you are thinking purple blush!? (the picture doesn't do it justice!) but i can promise you its the most natural flush to your cheeks! And look great it you apply to it the high points of your cheeks. My favourite kinds of blushes are browns, red and purples i don't usually wear pink blushes i feel they don't suite me or my skin tone. The packaging it matte black which is lovely and its feels lightweight and compact. A small amount goes a long way, its very pigmented. The product has a wonderful smell that you can still smell slightly on the face.

The lipstick i have been consistently wearing this month is my MAC Lipstick in 'Brave'. This has been my most worn lipstick on 2016, although its only the end of January!! I find this lipstick is the most perfect every day colour that goes with almost any makeup look. I wont speak too much about it here is the link to my review of it. (link)

Lastly there are two body products i have really been loving this month. They are Soap and Glory Hand Food and the Soap and Glory Heel Genius, I got them both for Christmas as part of the limited edition gift set they bring out at the end of every year. They both have wonderful smell that lasts for ages on your skin! They both are thick texture that feels so luxurious on your skin, a real treat for your hands and feet.

I'd love to know what are some of your favourite products for January 2016?
Have you tried any of these products?

And is anyone else still writing 2015 instead of 2016!?! Or is it just me.....

November Favourites: 2015

Hello darlings

Can you believe it is December 1st!! I'm so excited, its finally the Christmas Season! Who else is excited? Although today's post isn't very Christmasy it is my latest favourites, my November ones to be specific. I hope you enjoy :)
I'll start of with a product thats no stranger on my blog, my Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil in 'Berry Much' i have a couple of these pencils and i love them. They are quick and easy to use, very pigmented, creamy and long lasting, everything i'm looking for in a lip product. I have especially been loving berry much this month, its the perfect winter shade.

I haven't had the Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette very long, only a month or so but it has fast become my staple makeup item. Its the most gorgeous palette i own, not necessarily packaging wise, it very basic, but definitely the product. The first pinkish shade is my favourite it provides the most gorgeous light sheen, perfect for everyday!

Again this product is no stranger to my blog No7 Nail Polish in 'Deep Wine' i got this little nail polish in my No7 advent calendar last year and i have loved it ever since. Its the perfect berry colour, again perfect for this season!

Lastly is this Sleek Blush in 'Suede', i love sleek blushes i think they are great value for money. The packaging is well sleek, its cute and compact. This one, suede, is my favourite, it is definitely a autumn colour but i wear it all year round. The product is very pigmented and a small amount goes a long way.

I'd love to know what are some of you guy's favouirtes are this month?
And are you excited for Christmas?!

Disappointing Products #1

Hello darlings.

Today's post is a disappointing products post, it really sucks when you get a product and as much as you want to like it you just don't. Most of these products i haven't liked are ones that i've liked other ones from the range and brand but this particular one i didn't like, it was either not what i expected or didn't work for my skin type. What doesn't work/what i don't like might not be the case for you.
I hope you enjoy :)

Maybelline Lipstick in 'Mauve Mania'. I love Maybelline lipsticks but this range's scent i don't like, the way a products smells is very important to me and i just didn't like it, it is a very strong berry scent that i could still smell on the lips for a long time after. I know lots of people really like it just wasn't for me. Its a shame as i really love the colour!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 'Eternal Gold'. Again similar to the Maybelline lipstick, i love the colour Tattoos they are amazing and easy to use, my personal favourite is Permanent Taupe'. I found that Eternal Gold isn't as nice of a formula, its patchy when i apply it and its not as creamy, it just wasn't as good as the other ones i've tried.

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in 'Petal'. I haven't tried many products from sleek, i have a couple of blushes and their contour kit, which i really love however i found this matte cream VERY drying and uncomfortable, it is long lasting but when it fades it turns into a weird line around your lips that looks bad. I really wanted to love it as i love matte lip products but sadly this one is not for me.

MUA Matte Palette Ever After. I was so looking forward to using this palette when i bought it a couple years ago, mattes similar to lips products are my favourite eye-shadows, they are the most natural and best for everyday use for me. But these weren't pigmented, i was really disappointed, a couple of the darker shades on the bottom row are ok but i don't use those very often, i wanted to use the paler one for bases but the top line of the palette is basically unusable. I normally rave about MUA eye shadows as they are good quality but unfortunately these weren't.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer in 'Porcelain'  Lastly this Rimmel concealer, i really wanted to love this, i like the packing, i love the idea of it being a pot and the colour match was great, normally Rimmel Foundations and Concealer are too dark but since they introduced 'light porcelain' i have a perfect shade. The problem with this concealer for me was its too dry, its clings to my fine lines, you can't use it on blemishes (i have a big problem with acne). The concealer also didn't last long and if you apply too much it was very cakey looking.

I'd love to know have you tried any of these products?
Did they work for you?
Are there any products that disappointed you?

October Favourites 2015

Hello darlings.

As i say every month i can't believe how quick October has gone and its officially November! Which means its closer to Christmas yay! and my birthday, well my birthday was yesterday and i had an awesome day :) (i will be doing a post soon) This month i only have a couple of favourites they are all beauty products too, i hope you enjoy :)
All my October favourites this month are makeup related, i haven't been using much skin care as i'm trying to figure out why i'm getting awful breakouts. I'll start off with a makeup brush i've been loving, its the Ebay Flat Top Kabuki Brush (review) i love this brush for applying foundation, it give good even coverage, its soft and great quality. I've had it for a good few months now and it hasn't shed any hairs yet!

Next is a GOSH Matte Lipstick in 'Rose' i've already mentioned this lipstick in a lip of the week. I love this lipstick, its a lovely pinky nude, the formula is creamy, log lasting and doesn't dry out my lips.

The palette i've been loving this month is the Naked 2 Palette (review) i've nearly hit pan on Suspect my favourite shade, which is a lovely bronze colour, i still need to experiment with some of the other shades, its such a gorgeous variety such as YDK and Pistol.

The last beauty favourite for October is the Sleek Contour Kit in light (mentioned in my latest haul) i haven't used the bronzer in this kit much but i am obsessed with the highlighter, its a gorgeous subtle highlighter that you can build up to a dramatic glow, definitely work trying!

I'd love to know what some of your beauty favouites are this month?
Can you recommend any beauty products i should try? I'm always looking for new ones :)

Sleek Matte Cream Review | Perfect Fixations

Hello Darlings.

Today post isn't my usual lip of the week, instead its little review of a lip product i bought a month of so ago and i thought i'd share my thoughts with you.
I hope you enjoy :)

As always i'll start with the packaging, i do like it, its cute and, well, sleek as the name suggests. But thats where my love for this product sadly ends, it is matte, very matte and long lasting which is great, but its extremely drying, even if you have moisturised lips. I don't like the applicator its not tapered enough for me and doesn't have enough precision so its not the easiest to apply. The smell, for those who have been following me for a while know the way a cosmetic item smells is important to me, and lets just say its not a pleasant smell, i can't quite describe it, but i don't like it. There isn't the greatest shade range, i think there is 5 shades available, although there isn't the greatest shade selection this one i have 'Petal' is a beautiful colour and the colours available are nice i would just like some more options.

I feel like i'm being quite harsh but i was really looking forward to trying one of these matte creams as matte lipsticks are some of my favourites, so i am a little diappointed. I think its good if you have perfect lips with no dryness and aren't planning to wear it all day everyday as it does dry out your lips.
You can purchase them here

I'd love to know have you tried any of the Sleek Lip Creams?
