Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara Review

 Good evenings darlings.

Today's post is about a new mascara i've just tried, i haven't bought a new mascara in the longest time. My favourite day to day one is the Maybelline Mascara and i've used it non stop for about 2 years or maybe even longer! I go this mini mascara in a cute little set from Tarte for my birthday I would add a link but its no longer available on their website, but you can buy this mascara on its own full size. which i will link at the end of the post. I have really tiny straight lashes so i do struggle finding a mascara that does anything for me, so what works for me might not work for you.
The packaging is a thin black tube with a plastic bristle brush. Its a cute mascara, good for travel. Although its a travel size i don't think they've skimped on the wand size and its pretty big, I really like plastic wands more than a normal bristle brush, i feel they catch the lashes more and doesn't loose as much of the product.

What do it do? The wand separated my lashes, it gave them a nice curl and added length. It makes them look quite dramatic, at least for my tiny eyelashes. So i was really pleased.
I feel however i only need one coat, if i do any more it does start to clump and flake a little. I notice it under my eyes as the day goes on which wasn't great. It is also not waterproof so i wouldn't wear this to the gym or of you rub your eyes a lot.
Overall i do really like this mascara, its the first for a long time that i would be happy to wear in my day to day routine as its does make my eyes lashes look really nice. I don't think it lives up to my Lash Sensational from Maybelline but its a nice alternative and i'm glad i have it in my collection.

You can buy it full size here for £21

I'd love to know have you tried this mascara?

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Review

Hello darlings.

I feel Maybelline mascaras are taking over! I have crap eyelashes so i'm always looking for a miracle mascara. I love Maybelline mascaras, their lash sensational is my holy grail, so when i saw this one i thought i'd give it ago. I picked this up for £3.99 in Home Bargains a few weeks back.
The first thing that stands out is the packaging, i think it is nice, it stands out but i think its a bit too bold for my liking, aimed more at teenagers. I like a slick black tube if i'm honest. But i really love the wand, i like small plastic wands that can get right into the roots of my small eyelashes. So this was a win for me.
But lets get down to the important part, is it a good mascara? Errr... Its an okay mascara, i had to curl my lashes before hand as it did nothing to my small straight lashes but once curled with an eyelash curler it did give them some lift and length that lasted but of i'm honest i think it was the curlers. But the product wasn't flaky and didn't smudge and once on the lash it dried quite fast. Unlike a lot of mascaras it wasn't clumpy, but it was very weighty on. The finished look was a nice natural look, but not dramatic or wow look! Not the Falsie look is claims, sorry Maybelline.
(With the mascara)
Overall it wasn't a bad mascara it just didn't do anything special. Maybe on someone who has amazing long eyelashes to begin with it would but really good but sadly for me i wont repurchase.

You can purchase here for £7.99

The Maybelline One By One Mascara Review

Hello darlings.

Its been ages since i bought a new mascara, my current favourite is the Maybelline Lash Sensational, which you will have noticed i have mentioned several times on my blog. Its my go to mascara. But i was in TKMaxx a while ago and i noticed the had several of the Maybelline One By One mascaras (i think they are being discontinued? Although its still on their website) and as they were only £3.99 i thought i'd try one out. I know this use to be a firm favourite among the beauty community a few years ago. So i thought i test out it myself!
I'll start off with the packaging, I really like it, the tube is a nice colour and shape. Its nothing like what i have in my collection. It does look a little cheap but that doesn't bother me only i will see it. I bought it in black-brown, i only have black mascaras so i thought it would be nice to try a different one, a colour for a more natural makeup day. And i have to say i really like the colour of it on my lashes, its definitively more black than brown. The wand i was really intrigued by, i don't have any other mascara that have this shape wand. It separated and gave volume to my lashes which i was really happy about, its not the best results i've ever had from a mascara. I have quite short eyelashes so its hard to make them long but i think this mascara did quite a good job. (See pictures below) The formula is nice, not too wet so it doesn't clump my lashes too much or smudge under my eyes.
Right eye no mascara
Left eye with the Maybelline mascara

Verdict: I'm really happy that i bought this mascara it does exactly what i want from a mascara and i'm really happy with the results. I don't think it will replace my Maybelline Lash Sensational as my favourite but i will continue to use this and maybe even repurchase.

I'd love to know have you tried this product?
What are your thoughts?

NEW Benefit Roller Lash | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

Today i have for you my thoughts on this little sample of Benefit's Roller Lash that i got free with Elle magazine this month. Like many of you when i heard that Elle with giving away this free sample i rushed out to buy it. I'll admit i've never tried a Benefit mascara before so i'm not sure what there other ones are like but here are my thoughts on this one.
I hope you enjoy :)

As always i'll start with packaging, i really like it, some of Benefit's packaging can look a little cheap and tacky but this is really sleek. Looking at their website the full size tube has even cooler packaging! The wand isn't usually the type i buy, i like a thick brush not small and plastic. Nevertheless i found it really effective, it gave my lashes length as well as volume and thickness. So i was really impressive as my lashes are small horrible things that never do what i want them to do! The formula is good, i've only worn it a couple times but it didn't flake or run at all so that was great. It dried pretty quick so i didn't smudge it.

Overall i really like it. To be honest didn't do anything more special then my normal Max Factor 2000 calorie or Collection Extreme mascara but i'm glad i tried it and it wasn't a waste of money.
Will i go and buy it? I will definitely consider it. I did really like it. Most of Benefits mascaras retail around £17.50 so in the past i've thought them a little on the pricey side when i can get the two i mentioned before for under £7.

I'd love to know has anyone else tried this mascara?
What are your thoughts?
Will you go and get it when its released on the 12th February?

You can buy it here on the Benefit Website

Essence Haul/Review

Hello darlings.

I'm back! Did you miss me?
Today i for you guys a little, a very little, haul from Essence that i got a couple of weeks back when i went to Exeter for the day. Unfortunately we don't have a Wilko in Bath so i haven't had the chance to try any essence products when they first launched them. I bought two items, a mascara and a lipstick.
I'll start with the lipstick:
The colour i went for was a lovely purple, again going with my new 'adventurous' streak i'm going for at the moment.

As always i'll start with the packaging, i like it, its a great size tube that doesn't look cheap. You get a decent amount of product, 3.8g and it has the 'e' stamped in to it which i really like. Cute colour range, with many that would suit lots of different people. The main thing i don't like about this lipstick is the plastic smell, its horrible. You can smell it on your lips when your wearing it and its not just for a second or two its for quite a while after you've applied it.
It applies quite drying at first but then turn quite creamy the more layers you apply. But overall I don’t like the lipstick and i don't think i will buy any more.

The second item i bought was a mascara:
The colour i went for was black.

This on the other hand i loved! I though't this was a brilliant mascara. I have really small eyelashes that don't do much. I think the reason the mascara has worked so well for me, its not just the formula, which is great but the brush itself. The brush is not too big which is great as it makes it very easy to apply and doesn't get all over my eyelids! It didn't do anything dramatic to them in length but it didn't clump and it made a very nice natural look. Overall i really love this mascara and would definitely buy it again.
My experience so far with Essence is 50/50.

Have you tried anything from Essence?
What is your option of their products? And would you recommend any?

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Review

Hello Darlings

After reading an article in Marie Claire about the hundredth anniversary of Max Factor creating the famous thinner greasepaint along with a brief history of the evolution of his products. I thought to myself, I don’t own many Max Factor products and I wanted to change this as its such an iconic brand. So I went out and bought the classic 2000 calorie mascara, I thought this was a good place to start as its a legendary Max Factor product.
The outcome, did I like it? Like it more like love it!

This mascara seriously adds the volume to my lashes and prolongs them dramatically.
I think I should start of my saying that I have very short eyelashes that refuse to do anything I want them to! I think the reason the mascara has worked so well for me, its not just the formula, which is great but the brush itself.

The brush is not too big which is great as it makes it very easy to apply. One problem I have with big brushes is that I get it all over my eyelids! This mascara gives volume and leaves my lashes looking long, any improvement in length is always welcome. The brush is also great and divides lashes so they do not look clumpy and lasts all day without smudging.
I have also found a small amount goes along way, so only one coat is needed. But another could be applied but by that point it does start to make the lashes clumpy.
Overall I think it is a handbag must.
The only problem i had with it was the smell, but then again mascara don't always tend to smell great...

I hope you enjoyed reading this, i would love to know what your favourite Max Factor product is?
