April Favourites 2016

Hello darlings!

Miss me? I'm sorry i've been a bit AWOL lately, i've just finished my Degree. These past three years have gone so fast, i can't quite believe its all over, its so sad. But its time for the next chapter of my life, although at this moment in time i am not sure what that will be... but i do know that i will now be back to blogging, i've missed it so much.

Today's post is my April favourites.

I know what you're thinking, that blush is a crazy colour! This blush is one of the most gorgeous blushes i own. Its gives the most natural flush to your cheeks if you only use it lightly, but very quickly it can look too much!

This gold brush is gorgeous, They are very similar to Real Technique Gold Metals Brushes, but half the price. The brush is lightweight, doesn't shed, and look more expensive than it is. Its the perfect size for blending eyeshadows and i like to use it for crease colours too.

I've mentioned this lipstick on my blog a couple times before that is because it is a consistent favourite of mine. Now that its spring and soon will be summer i'm starting to wear these more pinky shades and this one is my favourite.

Recently i've been really wanted to try more pinky/purpley eye shadows so i considered buying the Naked 3 palette but i didn't know whether they would suit me as pink ey shadows are quite hard to pull off for a lot of people. So instead of pending £40 i decided to spend £4 on this freedom palette to test the colours out. I have to say i'm glad i bought this palette, its such good value for money. The shadows are so pigmented and creamy. But i have to say pink eyeshadows don't suit me the best but i will continue to use this palette, especially the other colours in it and maybe look to buying other ones from the range!

I'd love to know have you tried any of these products?
What are some of your April favourites?

New Years Makeup FT Life of the Party Benefit Tin

Hello darlings.

I really enjoyed making my Christmas makeup looks so i decided to make a little New Years Eve one. I received this Benefit tin for Christmas (Thank you dad!!) and i though it would be fun to see if i could create a look using mostly this tin. I had to add a couple of items as it didn't include any base products or anything for my eyebrows as the eye shadows have shimmer in! I also decided to add a little eyeliner because that is my go to look! I hope you enjoy :)
Products:
I first applied a light layer of the PORE Fessional as my primer to help smooth my skin and keep my makeup in place all day. The tin doesn't contain any base products so i used the L'Oeral infallible (review coming soon) in 'Porcelain' and the Revlon Colour Stay Concealer in 'light' as my base (i didn't use a powder as i didn't need one in the end and the foundation was so mattifying). I then proceeded to fill in my eyebrows with my favourite brow product, the Seventeen Brown Pencil in Natural Brown. I then applied Rockateur to my cheeks as my blush, i tried to also use it as a sort of natural contour and i also applied a tiny amount of Benetint to my cheeks to see what it was like (i think i applied too much). I used call my bluff as my eye shadow base and filled most of my lid with taupe it off, i then added a little Tease (from the Naked 2 palette) to deepen up my crease a the tin doesn't have a deep enough shade for me to do that. Applying a thin black line to my upper lash using Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner and tight lined my waterline using the Model Co Eyeliner, i also added a little to my lower lash line too to make more of a smokey look.  I then applied a couple of coats of  the they're real mascara. To finish off the look i added a little of the benetint to my lips as a stain, i have to say i found it very drying and took it off after a couple of minutes!
(Jumper from Primark and Necklace from New Look)

Over all i really like this tin and i think the products are great quality, i think it will be really useful for travel! I've never owned anything from Benefit before, i think they are on the expensive side but i hope to try more in the future,

I really enjoyed making this look, i'd love to know what do you think of this look?
Also what are your favourite Benefit products? What should i try next?

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello darlings

Today post is a post i haven't done in a while, my current everyday makeup routine. It isn't very Christmasy but its just a few products that i've been reaching for a daily bases, its quick and easy and i really like how it has been turning out :)
Products:
Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette i used the first light shade on the left.
Naked Basics 2 Palette i used the colour Stark as a base and Frisk in my corner and crease.
MUA Eyeliner Pencil in 'Rich Brown' i apply a tiny bit in my waterline.

For an everyday look it is quite a lot of products but i need a lot of coverage. One reason i haven't been putting up images of myself on my blog over the last month or two is because i have been so unhappy with my skin, But luckily now it clearing up (fingers crossed that i haven't just jinxed it!) but it has left terrible scaring, especially on my chin and forehead. I'm find the Revlon Colour Stay bases are really good and provide a good amount of coverage for my skin but if anyone else could recommend any good ones i would be very grateful!

I'd love know have you tried any of these products?
What products have you been using in your every day makeup routine?

My Current Wishlist: Autumn 2015 I Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings.

I'm sorry its been a while, i've nearly finished my summer course and i've just come back from my holiday to Turkey, which was amazing and i will be doing a post all about that soon! :) Now on to today's post, its my current wishlist, i've never done one of these before, and i have been a a bit of a makeup hiatus recently, so there are a few new items i want!
I hoe you enjoy :)

Dolce and Gabbana 'The One'
(Picture Source and where you can purchase)
I smelt this fragrance when i was in Debenhams a while back and its still on my mind, its a gorgeous scent and i'm hoping if i hint at it for a while i might get it for my Birthday (which is in November) so fingers crossed!

Kate Moss Nude Lipstick '45'

(Picture source and where you can purchase)
When i saw Kate Moss had realised a nude lipstick collection i knew i had to have a look, as nudes are so simple to wear on a daily basis, the only one that stood out was number 45, the others are too pale for me and would give me the dead lips look, which i don't really want. This one is a lovely deep pink-nude that i think is very flattering.

MUA Bronze and Sculpt in 'Light'
(Picture source and where you can purchase)
I've not really been in contouring and have never been very good at it but i have decided that will change, and one sculpting kit i really want to try is the MUA Luxe one, this is only £5 and i've heard nothing but good things about it!

MAC Lipstick in 'Brave'
(Picture source and where you can purchase)
I always wanted to try MAC's Velvet Teddy but after i tried it in store i realised it didn't suit me and i realise it doesn't suit a lot of people, but brave i tried and really like and regret now buying it there and then.

The Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection 'Blush Brush'
(Picture source and where you can purchase)
These brushes are the most beautiful brushes i have ever seen, i especially like the blush brush, the colour and the texture are amazing and i really want the all but for now i'll settle for the blush one!

Black Ripped Skinny Jeans
(Picture source and where to buy it)

Lastly i've been looking for a good pair of ripped black skinny jeans for the longest time, i'm short and have quite big hips so buying jeans for me isn't the easiest. I spotted this on the New Look website and they are exactly what i am looking for, they are ripped but not too much and they look a nice shape, so hopefully i can find them in store so i can try them.

So that my current wishlist, i'd love to know what is on yours? What items have you had your eye on?

The 5 Product Face | Perfect Fixations

Hello Darlings.

Todays post is the 5 product face, i saw a few of these videos a while ago and thought as my current makeup routine is pretty simple makeup at the moment that this would be the perfect post. Its effortless, quick and simple, especially if you are in a rush!
I hope you enjoy :)
Products:
Maybelline Anti-age Concealer in 'Light' This is one of the best concealers i've tried, it blends beautifully, gives great coverage and i really like the sponge applicator, which i know a lot of people have an issue with.
Seventeen Brow Pencil in 'Natural Brown' This has quickly become my holy grail brow product, you may have seen it a lot on my blog recently, its the perfect texture and colour for me which i really struggle with.
Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2 Palette (My review) I love this palette, the pigmentation is wonderful and there is a huge colour selection, you can create so many looks from this beauty!
Maybelline Falsie Mascara in 'Black' This is a rediscovery for me, its a great lengthening mascara, i love the shape of the wand, its great for giving you that length and curl which my short stubby lashes lack.
Revlon Balm Stain in 'Honey' Lastly this lip crayon is the perfect summer shade, a subtle pink thats easy to wear and effortless to apply!

I'd love to know have you tried any of these products?
What 5 products would you use?

Bargain Buy: Ebay Brushes | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings.

Today post is a first impressions of some new brushes i purchased from Ebay last week. After reading Makeup Savys blog post on Ebay Bargains, (here) i saw a brush set that i just had to have. Most of the makeup brushes i own are real techniques, which are around £8-12 each or sets for £20/22 so when i saw i could get this set of 10 brushes for £6.85 i just i had to buy them then and there! So here are my first thoughts and impressions and were they worth it.
I hope you enjoy :)
The Face Brushes:
Left to Right: a Flat Angled Kabuki, a Angled Kabuki, a Tapered Kabuki, a Flat Top Kabuki and a Round Top Kabuki
Eye Brushes:
Left to Right: a Precision Flat Angled, a Precision Angled, a Precision Tapered, a Precision Flat and a Precision Round.
The delivery arrived within a week, each brush was individually wrapped and it was well presented. I'm going to list the pros and cons of this set to give you a fair idea of what you get.

Pros:
First off they are really nice quality, they haven't shred yet. The brushes are made with synthetic hair but its really soft. The handles are made with a light weight material. The set comes with 10 brushes, its a great set for a beginner or someone who is a makeup artist. The face brushes i especially like and can see myself getting a lot of use out of them. The face brushes are dense, so good for liquid products and good for buffing liquid products into the skin.

Cons:
There isn't too many cons, the set only came in black and silver, which i don't mind but i think a few more colour combinations would have be nice. I haven't checked but other sellers might do other colours. When they arrived they had a horrible plastic smell which i guess is to expected as they are so cheap, but after washing them they smell fine. The eye brushes are too big for my small eye lids, but they can be used instead for concealer and highlighter so i'll still use them but its something to note.

Overall i think for under £7 they are a real bargain, even if you only like half of them its a pretty good deal. Great if you are on a budget or just staring with makeup.
You can purchase them here.

I'd love to know have you tried any brushes from Ebay?

My Makeup Inspiration #1 2015 | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

Today's post is my current makeup inspiration. I've done a couple of style inspiration posts but as i tend to be more interested in makeup than clothes i thought why not make a post on where i get my inspiration from? These are my current makeup icons, but to be honest they are my all time icons! They all have a similar theme, classic winged liner and either a red or neutral lip. But each has a little personalisation, which makes them unique to that person.
These are my current 5
I hope you enjoy :)

Marilyn Monroe
First up is a lady who is no secret in my heart Marilyn Monroe. She is a classic beauty. Wide eyed and sultry. With a classic winged liner and red lip, classic and effortless. Not really effortless (Lisa eldrideg utoral here, shows the lengths she went to to get this look) but she made it look effortless.
A timeless look.

Rhianna
Source
Next up is Rhianna. Rhianna changes up her makeup so often, going from neutral to dramatic! But i love them all, i can't always recreate them, (i'm not that daring or brave) But her more subtle looks i love. Again with the winged liner and this time a nude lip and glowing.
Very beautiful.

Alexa Chung
Alexa Chung always looks beautiful. So natural, she doesn't over do it. She uses very neutral colours, usually rocking a peachy or nude lip. Also at times rocking the winged liner. Can you see the theme already?

Elizabeth Taylor
Another classic Hollywood beauty, known for her piercing violet eyes and dark eyeliner. Elizabeth is another beauty who i wish i could look like. I love how her look is glamorous but still able to look natural
A true gem. (Not forgetting the diamonds ;) )

Margot Robbie
Source
Lastly a new inspiration is Margot Robbie. Ever since i saw her in Focus (Will Smith in that movie, phwoar, literally a God!) She's effortlessly beautiful. Here is a picture of her with the classic red lip and liner. She looks fresh faced and glowing.

The biggest thing here is the effortless natural look, which is the look i like the best.

I'd love to know who are some of your makeup inspiration?
Do you like any of mine?

Full Face Of Makeup | One Brand | Rimmel | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

Today's post in the third in my series of my one brand full of makeup look. (Thats a mouthful!) You can check out my Maybelline and MUA looks here. This time i've created a look using only Rimmel London Products. I have to admit i haven't owned many Rimmel products before, but now I've finally gathered enough products that i am happy with to get a everyday wearable look.
I hope you enjoy :)
Base:

Eyes/Eye Brows:
Eye shadow Palette in '023 Foggy Grey' i used the dark brown and the black shade in my crease

Lips:
Overall i'm really happy with this smokey eye look.

Stand out products:
The liquid eyeliner, was brilliant, i really like how thin the nip is, great for a small little flick. The blusher, is beautiful, really pigmented and not too shimmery. The powder, everyone raves about this, myself included, its a great quality powder. And lastly the lipstick, i was surprised to like this as much as i did, i remember when the Kate Moss lipsticks first came out they smelt plastic and not very nice on the lips, but this one smells like vanilla.

Disappointing products:
The eye brow pencil, this pencil was too orange toned for me, not matching my eyebrows at all. The lasting finish Concealer, i was so happy to buy this after hearing so many great reviews. It is full coverage which i like but as i have dry skin it clings to my dry patches. Especially on my chin. But i do think for normal, normal-combination and oily skin the concealer would be perfect.

I'd love to know have you tried any of these products?
Do you like the look i've created?
Could you recommend me any good Rimmel London Products?

My Latest Buys.

Hello darlings.

Recently i did a little shopping on a lunch break from Uni and this is the result! But to be fair it has been a little while since i bought any makeup and it was 3 for 2! How could i resist!?!

Starting at the top: I picked up one of the Sleek Corrector & Concealer Palettes, i've been wanting one of these for ages but they always were out in the shade i wanted so i was so happy when i saw it! I love sleek products especially the packaging, its so, well sleek! Next up is the Bourjois Push Up Mascara, i've read really good things about this and as i've nearly used up my favourite mascara, Max Factors 200 Calorie, i thought i'd give it a go. Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms, now these i love! I been wanting to try these but i didn't know what colour i wanted to try, so i bought 2! haha, I got '240 Striking Spectaculaire and 225 Sultry Sulfreuse' they are wonderful, not drying at all on the lips as they are just so creamy and really pigmented. I highly recommend them. Now the next product, I'm not gonna lie, i've never tried a Essie nail polish. I could never justify paying £7.99 for a nail polish, that sounds crazy to me, especially when you can buy Barry M ones for £2.99/ £3.99 that are amazing! I got it in the shade 'Not just a pretty face' which isn't very Autumny but i feel its a perfect neutral all year round colour, so i know i will get a lot of use out of it. Last but by no means least is the legendary Soap and Glory Brow Archery. I got it in 'Brownie Points'. I have yet to try this but am really looking froward to it as i know its a firm favourite among the beauty community!

Have you done any shopping recently? I'd love to know what items you've bought and been loving :D

PS: I've decided to permanently move Song of the week to Saturdays :)
