My current Skin Care Routine // Summer

Hello darlings.

I haven't written an updated skin care in the longest time. I have tried and love a lot of new products since my last post and i'm excited to share my new routine with you!
I'll start off with the first step my skin care routine, it is to first take of my makeup. I gave up with using wipes years ago i only use them when i'm travelling or i'm ill or feeling lazy, you know how it goes. I've been a long standing fan of Micellar water an i've tried a few over the years and the one i always go back to is the Garnier one. Its perfect, it dissolves makeup like a dream, no need to rinse and there's no smell or taste to it.

Next up washing my face, an important part! I have suffered with problem skin for quite some time, if you are a regular reader you've heard me say it a million times. One thing that was helping my skin was the contraceptive pill but now i'm pregnant (previous post) i am no longer taking it so my bad skin has come back. So deep action products like this one are really helping my skin. Plus you can always use it as a mask too which is great.

Similar to the previous product this one is aimed at problem skin. This exfoliator is gentle and lathers well. Its s very gentle exfoliator lots i've tried have been too harsh for my dry skin. I have always love Simple's products they are also so gentle on my skin and i think its a great product for teenagers and people with sensitive and spot prone skin.

I review this products a couple months ago, it was my little splurge for finishing my dissertation and i have to say i'm so happy that i purchase it. With this product you do not need a lot, a pump or two goes a long way! The liquid drys fast, it isn't sticky or tacky so its perfect to apply first thing in the morning and to wear under makeup. It provides a smooth base and it is absorbed into the skin quickly. I haven't tried many serums so i don't have much to compare it to but i really like it.

Last of all eye cream. I've only just started using this product but i already love it. Its thick, creamy and rubs in beautifully. I don't think this product work miracles, it brightens eyes but i wouldn't say it helps with wrinkles if i'm honest. But as an everyday eye cream its pretty good!

I'd love to know have you tried any of these products?

A Little Skin Care Haul

Hello darlings.

Today post is a skincare haul, i picked up a couple of skin care products a month or so back and i thought i'd share what i got with you guys. I haven't bought many skin care product recently as my skin has been messing me around! But i bought a couple of essentials and a couple of items to help combat my blemishes!
Now that winter is upon us hand creams are going back into my handbag! Good Things Hand Cream (i couldn't find a link i'm sorry) i picked this hand cream up in TKMaxx a couple weeks back, i got it for (i think) £2.99. It has the most gorgeous berry scent, its fast drying and its a decent 100ml bottle/tube, that should last me for a long time!

I've never tried anything from the Botanics range before but i saw Boots were doing a sale on their Botanics range so i picked up the Cleansing Foam Wash All bright as it was one of the only items left! I have yet to use it as i'm finishing up my current cleanser but i look forward to it as i've heard good things!

The products i bought to help combat my blemishes are the Quick Fix Anti-blemish Mud Mask as i have mentioned recently i've been having a little trouble with my skin, actually thats an understatement, a lot of trouble, i'm getting outbreak after outbreak of blemishes so i've been trying anything and everything to rid of it. I'm drinking lots of water, watching my diet, not wearing as much makeup and changing my skincare routine. I also got Superdrug's own brand Deep Action Anti-blemish Stick so fingers crossed they will do something, if not then back to drug store.

I'd love to know what skin care products are you loving at the moment?

August Favourites 2015 I Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings.

Its been a while since i did a monthly favourites, i missed June and July, but this month there have been a few next products i have been loving so i was really excited to write this post.
I hope you enjoy :)

As you guys know i have quite long hair, not as long i use to have but still long enough that i have to make an effort to keep it in as best condition as i can, for this i used hair masks, they are quick and easy and a sustainable method for me. I've had my fair few of them over the years, the latest one i've been enjoying is The Superdrug Coconut Water and Coconut Oil Masque, coconut oil is great for your hair and in a masque is brilliant making it easier for me to remember to use.

Next up is my Garnier Micellar Water, i bought a small travel size to being with as i didn't know if i was going to like this or if it would be the same as my other micellar waters and honestly it is, there's not much difference, except it doesn't sting my eyes which is brilliant like some of the others micellar water do when removing eye makeup. I am enjoying this and will buy the full size when it runs out.

Maybelline Lash Sensational is no secret to the blogging community, famous for being a dupe for the Benefit Roller Lash (which i LOVE) i think this is a great drugstore alternative, the wand is great for getting into the lashes and giving volume and length and i love the packaging, its so sleek.

Lastly, brows, i've been trying out a couple of new brow products these past few month and the I Love Makeup, Brow Kit is really good, the lightest brown is perfect for a natural look for those days when i'm keeping ti more casual and going for the 'no makeup look'

Thats it for this month another month has gone so fast, i can't believe it is now September, how crazy is that! I'd love to know what some of your August favourites are? What products have you been loving?

L'Oreal Skin Perfection Exfoliator Review | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

Its been a while since i did one of my quick fire review so here is a new one! This one is a skin care product. Looking after my skin is something i've been a little lazy with lately so i'm trying my best to stay on top of it!
I hope you enjoy :)
What it claims:
L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Exfoliator, a radiance revealing face scrub for all skin types. Infused with micro-beads, removes makeup and impurities to reveal a better skin texture, skin feels instantly smooth, refined and perfectly cleansed. No soap.

As always i'll start with packaging, its nice, nothing fancy but not cheap looking. But when you open it up it has the most wonderful peachy smell. When you pour it on you hand, it has a nice texture, very small grains, not too rough when you rub them in. After using it for a couple of weeks, it hasn't dried my skin out, which i find can be a problem with exfoliators. It doesn't sting or make my eyes sore or make my skin sensitive. I don't feel there is a dramatic difference in my skin, it left my skin smooth and cleansed, but nothing miraculous. Overall i really like it, the smell and the texture are brilliant.

Its not too expensive, you get 150 ml for £4.49 (You can purchase it here) (Currently on sale in Boots at the moment £2.99!)

I'd love to know have you tried this product? What are you thoughts?
What is your favourite exfoliator?

Products I Continue To Repurchase | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings

Today's post was going to be my fist ever empties but when i was looking thought the bag of products i have been collecting over the last few months, i noticed there was duplicates and i thought why not do a little post on what i have continued to repurchase. There must be a reason why i have kept buying them? I thought this would be more interesting. Let me know what you think and i might make it into a little series :)
I hope you enjoy.
Simple Replenishing Moisturizer: This is one of my favourite moisturizers, its light weight, fasting drying and fragrance free. The perfect everyday moisturizer. Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder: This is quite a heavy powder, its really good for oily skins. I especially love this powder for the summer when i am super oily as during the winter my skin goes the complete opposite. Skin why can't you make your mind up?!? Collection Extreme Mascara: One of the best budget mascaras on the high street hands down. The wand is the perfect size, it gives length and volume, and its only £2.99! MUA Undress Your Skin: This foundation is light on the skin, its long lasting, and great value. Plus it travel friendly! (And they are usually on offer) Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer: This is no secret to the beauty community, it is the best concealer i have ever had, its great for pale skins, it has great coverage and long lasting. The perfect concealer. Lastly Nivea Essential Lip Care: Its the essential lip balm! Basic but wonderful, these little beauties have seen my through the winter.

One good thing is they are all pretty budget friendly, so not too expensive to keep repurchasing.
I'd love to know what items do you continue to repurchase?

January Favourites 2015 | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings.

Its that time of the month again, my favourites! I can't believe this is the first one of 2015, and i can't believe it is the end of January already! Its madness to me. Its gone so fast, i have a feeling this year will be a quick one.
I'll start with the exciting stuff first, makeup!
The Naked 2 Palette, how could this not be a favourite?! haha. I have used this palette so much this month. It has a perfect range of neural colours which are perfect for this season. They are really pigmented and long lasting, a must have! (You can check out my review here) Next up sticking with the eyes is the E.L.F Eyelid Primer. I picked this up in Cardiff last year (It sounds so odd saying that) and i have to say for a budget makeup product (its £1.95) its incredible. My eyeshadow stays on so much longer and doesn't crease. I highly recommend it. (You can check out my haul here)The last eye product is this Revlon Mascara. This is another recent buy, i'd never tried a Revlon mascara before, but i really like this one. The brush is not what i usually go for but i really like what it does to my lashes. Last makeup item and another Revlon one is the Revlon Suede Lipstick, this was my most recent Lip of the week and a recent buys, its a beautiful nude matte lip stick, that goes on creamy. Its long lasting and really subtle!

Next up skin care!
NIVEA Sensitive Day Cream, this is my favourite moisturizer at the moment (you can check out my skin care routine here) Its thick and creamy but not too heavy. Perfect for these colder months when my skin is very dry and not happy! Last but not least is Palmer's Coco Butter, this was in my favourites last month, but its still a favourite! I'm really loving this hand cream its so creamy and has the most gorgeous smell and drys super fast!

I'd love to know what items/products are you loving this month?

My Winter Essentials: 2014 | Perfect Fixations

Hello darlings
Today i have for you my products/items that i need to survive the winter!
First i start off with nail polish, now this is more of a vanity essential but it makes me feel better to have nicely painted nails this time of year. Plus you can get so many great nail polishes in the Winter, beautiful deep reds/purples or Christmasy ones! Hand Cream, this is a must have, i get very very dry skin this time of year so hand cream is essential. Currently i am loving the Palmer's Cocoa Butter, its so smooth, fast drying with a wonderful smell. This is always in my handbag. Now i'm a massive tea drinker (i drink a scary amount every day) so hot drinks are an imporatnt part of my day even more so in winter. Face masks, again similar to the hand cream, i find them perfect for brightening/cleansing/moisturising your face in these harsh temperatures. Plus they are a wonderful treat for a relaxing evening! Not the most glamorous item but tissues, i always carry a packet in my handbag. Everyone gets a cold/flu this time of year so its wise to always keep a packet close! Lastly lip balms, similar to moisturising your hands, don't forget your lips too! Especially if you want to wear those wonderful berry lipsticks this time of year. :)

I hope you enjoyed reading this and i would love to know do you have any winter essentials? If so let me know done in the comments.

PS, Song of the week will be taking a short break, but will be back after Christmas!

Nivea Express Hydration Primer

Hello darlings

Today i have for you my thoughts on Nivea's daily essentials primer. I've had this product for several months (in fact i mentioned it in my July Favourites here) But now i feel i've had enough time to really road test it as they say.

As always i'll start with the packaging, i love it, its cute and i like the fact its a glass tub so it feels expensive. The only problem is that its not the most travel friendly, but it is small so you could carry it in your handbag if your careful not to drop/through your hand bag around! It has a nice smell, a nice texture and goes on the skin smoothly. I found it did help my makeup stay on but not all day unfortunately but longer than if didn’t use this and a lot longer than other primers i've tried. I love the fact its a moisturizer as well so its light on the skin and doesn't have that silicon feel. Its god value for money as its relatively cheap (although i hate that word) at £4.99 and a little goes a long way!
My main problem with it was it would be better if it had a pump or was in a tube , I hate just sticking my fingers into it as it causes a mess. But oh well i still really like it. It comes in both normal/dry skin and normal/combination skin which is great,

You can buy it here

I'd love to know have you tried this product?

(Current) Skin care routine

Hello darlings.

Today I thought I would do an updated skin care routine! Summer edition. I hope you enjoy :)
I’m not one of those girls who has a huge skin care routine in the morning, because, well to be honest I don’t have the time. The only thing I do is wash, moisturser and prime my skin before I put my makeup on, which works just fine for me. My routine is an evening one that I thought I’d share with you. In case any of you were looking for any new products or ideas.
 So lets begin.

Olay Essentials Eye Makeup Remover.
First stage stage in my routine is to take off my makeup, which is very important, never sleep with makeup still left on your skin!
To do this I either use Simple skin care wipes, or a makeup remover. At the moment I’m using the Olay eye makeup remover to take off my eye makeup, I do this using small cotton pads. I find it works really well and is soft on my skin.

Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser.
Then I use a cleanser to take off the rest of my makeup and to thoroughly wash my face. I find this one, Superdrug’s own brand, to be amazing! Its rich, creamy, doesn't dry out my skin and removes all my makeup so easily. Plus its great value for money!

Simple Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash.
I use Simple moisturising facial wash next, it’s a really decent face wash. Its very gentle and leaves my skin super soft. I am a big fan of Simple products as I have quite sensitive skin and their products don’t have any artificial perfumes, colours or harsh chemicals, so it doesn't irritate my skin or cause me to break out. Which is always good!

Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturser.
To finish off I use Simple moisturiser, the same one I use in the morning. I love this moisturser as its light on my skin and it drys really quickly. Which is fantastic so it doesn’t leave me sticky so I can go to sleep straight after without having to wait for it to dry. I use it in the morning too as its so light I can’t feel it under my makeup and doesn’t make me look shiny. Overall a really good, light, moisturser. I personally wouldn’t use this in the winter as it is very light, but for summer its perfect!

I hope you enjoyed reading this and if it was helpful. I know I love reading peoples skin care routines so I thought I’d give it a go!

I would love to know whats your favourite moisturser?

'My most worn' tag.

I saw this tag a few days ago and thought I’d give it a go! So here are all the products/items i have been loving this month.
My most worn...

Book: (Not really worn this but I thought I’d put it in as well.) 'Elizabeth' By J.Randy Tararorrelli, such an amazing book about one of my idols, the beautiful Elizabeth Taylor. I love J.R Taraborrelli books, and have read many of his books including his book on Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson. I highly recommend them!

Hair product: Batiste dry shampoo. I literally rely on this stuff! Its the best dry shampoo i have ever tried.

Makeup item: The Urban Decay basics palette. I bought this last month and have used no other eye-shadows. Its perfect for everyday looks, basic, matte, natural and smoky eyes. Also they are really pigmented and stay on for a really long time.

Nail varnish: Barry M nail polish in shade 1A Red wine. My all time favourite shade, i love how its a deep red but not a bright colour. Its classic and classy.

Here are my nails at the moment, i am wearing the red wine shade and 47 Black in Barry M.

Perfume: Chanel No5. This is the perfume i wear daily, i've had this 100ml bottle for coming up to three years and i'm never bored of it. But i'm soon gonna run out of and must repurchase! Or if someone loves me they can buy it for me *flutters eyelashes*

Skin care: Superdrug's own brand hot cleanser. Its perfect for taking my makeup off with and leaves my skin super soft, healthy and clean.

Item of clothing: My blue stripped dress from Primark. I love the colour and the style and think it is perfect for summer.

Shoes: Black heeled boots from New Look. They are comfortable and practical.

Jewellery:

Earrings: Square gold hoops from Primark, matches all my outfits, light weight and good value for money.

Necklace: Audrey Hepburn watch/necklace. This was given to me as a gift from a friend. Its cute and light weight and Audrey matched all my outfits.

Ring: Gold rings from Primark. Again good value and matches all my outfits and all my nail polishes.

So that all, i hope you enjoyed reading it, feel feel to do the tag yourself.
Have a lovely day/evening
